If you're seeing very tiny black ants — we're talking barely visible — trailing across your
countertops or bathroom, there's a good chance you're dealing with Black Rover Ants.

Black Rover Ants are one of the most misidentified species in Central Texas. They're often mistaken for pavement ants or black garden ants, but they behave very differently — and the wrong treatment won't work.

What makes them difficult:
• Massive colony size — hundreds of thousands of workers
• Multiple queens per colony
• They bud (split) when threatened — spraying makes the problem worse
• They nest in soil, mulch, under slabs, and inside wall voids
• They're attracted to sweets and moisture
If you've been spraying them and they keep coming back — this is probably why. Rover
ants require a bait-based approach, not a spray.

Right now, across Bryan and College Station, wasp queens are building nests.

Spring is when it starts — a single overwintered queen selects a sheltered location and
begins constructing a small paper nest. By summer, that nest can hold hundreds of
workers. By fall, thousands.

Common nesting spots homeowners miss early:

• Under porch and deck eaves
• Inside soffit openings
• Behind shutters
• In ground holes in the yard (yellow jackets)
• Inside grill covers and outdoor furniture
A nest the size of a golf ball in May becomes a nest the size of a basketball by August.
Early treatment is dramatically easier — and safer.
If you're seeing wasps flying a repeated pattern to one spot, that's a nest. Don't wait.

If you're finding millipedes inside your home, they didn't come in looking for food. They came in looking for moisture.

Millipedes live outdoors in damp soil, mulch, and leaf litter — feeding on decaying organic matter. In dry conditions or after heavy rain, they migrate and often end up inside through
gaps in foundations, doors, and utility penetrations.

A Few Facts Worth Knowing:

• They're harmless — no bite, no sting, no structural damage
• They die quickly indoors because it's too dry for them
• Finding them inside consistently means moisture and entry points need attention
Peak season in Texas-spring through early summer

Treatment targets both the exterior harborage areas and the entry points — not just the ones you are finding inside.
