I don’t believe I have shown pictures of this before, but below is a comparison of before cleaning and just after cleaning.

I always want to warn the customer that the orange color is normal and expected. This is the Biological Cleaner doing its work inside the pores of the stone. In the coming weeks the stone will return to its vibrant white as the moss, mold and mildew are defeated.

Over the past month we have been working on our largest single project to date. This family plot dates back to 1899 in St John’s Catholic Cemetery in Brunswick.

The plot currently has 14 memorials, 2 sets of granite stairs to a pad surrounding a 10’ monument, 4 corner markers and 2 large cement floral urns. The work comprised of cleaning all the above items, including edging and removal of several feet of earth that had grown over the stairs and pads. Additionally, we lifted and leveled 8 memorials.

The customer did not visit the site for the past month while we worked, he wanted to be surprised when he saw the end result. Meaning I did not post any finished work as we went along, I didn’t want the surprise ruined for him. This morning I was able to reveal to him the changes. I will show a series of changes in the coming days.

Interesting story about the cement flower urns. The customer’s grandfather personally pulled each of those urns to the family plot in a wagon from Union St. in Brunswick near Mill St.

The challenge to lift, level and align a monument at the base of a century old oak tree and it’s root structure is hard enough, but then you discover 90 years ago somebody cemented granite chunks to the base of the monument for some unknown reason.

We were able to return the monument to its original state, create a new base for years to come and align the monument with the other family members…..all after a few minutes of wondering what we’d gotten ourselves into.

19 hours into this entire project and only a few left.

I am excited and proud to announce we have purchased all the lifting and rigging equipment needed to offer complete resetting of the larger monuments next season.

This is an important step in continuing to build the level of offerings I have envisioned. There will be more information to come over the winter months.
