I've seen many posts about what a cleaning lady should be doing in your house, so figured I'd share.

I've been cleaning houses for over 6 years. All types. Move outs, listings for sale, college rentals, residential, and vacation rentals/Airbnb, and construction cleans.

Here's the thing: it is a 100% custom business. Some people want done what they physically can't do themselves (bathrooms and floors), some want spring cleaning (windows, fans, baseboards), some want what they hate doing done (laundry, dusting, dishes), and some want to just come home to an entirely clean house (a little of everything done each time).

Every. Single. Job. Is. Different.

So your cleaner should ask you specifically what you want done. If she doesn't, she's new. Which is fine! But there is no "standard" way to clean another person's house. Do yourself and your cleaner a huge favor and be specific about what you want done. Some people could care less about their baseboards but want sparkling windows. There is no way for us to know unless you tell us.

Hopefully I could help some people out with this post. I've just seen so much frustration regarding what cleaners should be doing. Cheers to the house cleaners and the people who hire them! 😊❤️
