PRO TIP Heavy rain can dilute chlorine and salt levels, throw off water chemistry, and introduce dirt, debris, and algae spores into your pool. Even saltwater pools should be shocked after a major rain since the salt system may not keep up fast enough. After a big rain, it’s important to shock your pool to restore sanitizer levels and keep the water clear and safe.
BEST PRACTICE: Shock your pool after heavy rainfall, especially if the water turns cloudy or you’ve had several inches of rain. 🌧️💦
