This is the damage that will happen to your house if you don't keep your gutters cleaned. Water will back up and over flow behind the gutter system causing the facial wood to rot out over time.
Cross peaces must be cleaned out as well. This is why you should have a Gutter company clean and service your gutters.
The bottom right pic shows how the cross peace was clogged. This is what caused all this damage over time.
