Good morning!!
PSA…
Unfortunately, the policy is still in effect where the landfill does not want any pumpkins whatsoever in the trash. Something about the way they decompose in the landfill, giving off a certain gas. So therefore it stands as our company policy that we will not pick up pumpkins with your trash or in a dumpster. We will not take them. Wildlife and cattle however, love pumpkins so you can ask a farmer permission and dump them somewhere other than in your garbage or at Lehr sanitation transfer station. Please do not hide the pumpkins in your garbage bags as we will find them and leave them so we do not get fined at the landfill. We will be very firm on this policy.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Have a blessed day.

In the next few weeks I will be announcing a date for a one day free appliance/metal only drop off at our Transfer Station on south Main Street in Britton. During our business hours only. You must bring it to us, (no exceptions) and it must be cleaned out or you will be charged. Refrigerators, washer, dryer, freezers, water heater-metal only (will charge for plastic ones). Any other metal, tin, aluminum, stainless steel, heavy steel, vehicles will likely be accepted. There cannot be any garbage or wood in the load. This is an event that is outside of our City contract. I -Joe (as the business manager and COO) decided to run this promotion to help our amazing customers keep our town beautiful.

Again, this promotion is run at our discretion during our regular business hours only.
