This week at Budge It Drains, we had the privilege of working on a restoration project at the historic Boston Opera House, one of Boston's most iconic landmarks. Our team began by assessing a pipe behind a marble column, which had been leaking and has remained in place since the building's opening in the late 1920s. Upon evaluation, we determined that the cast iron pipe had deteriorated and split along its entire length, extending from the basement to the roof. To facilitate the repair, specialized equipment was brought in to mill and prepare the cast iron for inversion. Subsequently, our team utilized UV-curing technology with a bluelight to apply a new liner spanning from the basement to the roof. Upon completion of this phase, a Dancutter Superflex robot was deployed to reinstate the mezzanine roof drain. All in a days work.
