Becca S. Postpartum Doula I am a DONA trained Postpartum Doula. My role is to act as a support system for new moms and dads, assist with breastfeeding, and be a sounding board.

What is a Postpartum Doula?
“Mothering the new mother”

In traditional cultures women live near their immediate family and raise their children with the help and support of the women in their community. These women care for the new mother so that she can focus on her new baby/babies and herself. These women who support the new family help care for older children, handle laundry, dishes, etc, and

provide breastfeeding support and advice. In our country this is not a common occurrence, which is where the Postpartum Doula steps in.
