Tracy Talk. Let’s talk about rugs.

They need be washed at least once a month. I wash mine at least weekly because my OCD requires it but monthly is probably more normal.

Rugs trap EVERYTHING!! Everything that falls on them. Everything that’s on the bottom of your shoes. Dirt, dog hair, skin flakes, people hair, just yuck in general. And bathroom rugs also hold moisture. Ewww.

So wash them then hang them outside somewhere to dry.

Today’s Tracy Talk is random and has nothing to do with the inside of your house but I’m going with it.

Clean your hummingbird feeders thoroughly at least once a week. You have to get a bottle brush and scrub the insides well. Hot soapy water with a splash of bleach. Scrub the little feeder holes well also. Then rinse with hot water very thoroughly.

Not changing their water at least weekly in Texas heat causes mold and yuck to grow. This can ultimately kill the birds. We don’t want dead birds.

If you mix your own bird water remember it’s one part sugar to 4 parts water. Don’t change the ratio.

I did mine this morning.

Tracy Talk!!! Let’s talk about porches and garages.

All the dirt and yuck that builds up on porches and in garages sticks to your shoes and comes inside your house.

If you have a husband and dogs like mine who refuse to take their shoes off at the door, this creates a problem.

But if you keep your porches and garages swept or blown off, it lessens the problem. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to do.

And if you’re a weirdo like me, you can even bleach and power wash the porches….which does take a little more time. I just did mine again.

You can carry on with your day now.

But anyways, I’m still able to do a Tracy Talk.

This one will be about clutter in general. Walk thru your house and notice alllll the things you never use. Is it broken? Throw it away. Does it work and you just don’t need it? Sell it…..or throw it away. You’ll be shocked how much less chaotic and overwhelming your house will feel when you just get rid of the extra s**t sitting around.

We have a rule at my house, if it’s been sitting untouched for one month it’s either trash or it needs to be put to use. I can’t stand random stuff stacked everywhere cluttering up my home.

It also makes cleaning less of a chore when you’re not having to move 1,000 things you don’t use just to do a simple wipe down (with hot soapy water of course) ☺️

Tracy Talk. Throw away the trash in your shower and bathtub!!!

If there are multiple bottles of the same product there shouldn’t be. You need face cleaner, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and a razor. If you have empty bottles or bottles you don’t use, THROW THEM AWAY….or store some in a cabinet to replace an empty when you have one. If you have 14 razors, pick one.

This makes it look and feel far less chaotic. It also makes cleaning the shower easier when you don’t have to move 100 empty and unused bottles out of the way first. Also, water settles under all those bottles and this is where your hard water deposits start……and mold and mildew. Ewww

This is my shower. This is all I have. And for whatever reason Lonnie has 2 shampoos in here. That will be investigated shortly.

I injured my ankle today, which stopped me from doing what I needed to do, but it’s not going to stop me from my Tracy Talk.

Every time you use your vacuum, clean it out. Canister and filters. Guess what???? Warm soapy water!!!!! Then rinse thoroughly and sit it out to dry THOROUGHLY.

This keeps it sucking like it should AND keeps your vacuum exhaust from stinking like a wet goats ass!!!!

The table on my front porch has canisters and filters drying at all times because I live by this rule.

I cleaned my floors today. I clean my floors most days but anyways. It brought me to today’s Tracy Talk.

When you mop your floor, this is the point where you change your mop water. A little cloudy. Dump it, rinse it, and fill it back up. Otherwise, you’re just moving dirt from one area of the house to the next.

Wanna know what I mop with? Dawn dish soap with a splash of bleach. Unless you have hardwood floors…..I have to switch up for those. But the dirty water concept remains.

Anyways, this guy came over from the house next door wanting to play. I did take a little break to entertain him for a minute. He was the sweetest.

Have your top shelves been dusted lately? These have!!

This is one of my hard resets I’m doing. They had a house cleaner who just wasn’t doing her job. But now I’m in the picture and I’m working my way thru it.

I made 100 trips up and down a ladder today carrying each snow globe down individually, then to the kitchen to be cleaned properly, then back up. I’m not scared of the hard stuff. Not even a little.
