How often do you clean your cartridge filter? We recommend every 4-6 months at minimum. Horse stalls/arenas, disking near fields, ash from fires, and golden retrievers (to name a few) will often clog the filter quicker.

Have you ever been to a public pool and it smells like you’re about to enter a bleach bath?
That smell is NOT chlorine. It is actually from CHLORAMINES.

Chloramines are chemical compounds, also known as “swimmer’s waste” such as sweat, oils and urine, combining with chlorine products. The “pool smell” means your chlorine is tied up with compounds and may indicate there is no more “free” chlorine.

It’s time to call in for some back up! O2 shock is something we recommend having on hand whether you have maintenance or maintain yourself. This is a “after the pool party” step you want to take, ensuring those compounds are removed from your pool.
