Ah, July. The burgers are grilling, the fireworks are booming, and your backyard is the place to be. But while you're keeping the party going above ground, your septic system is quietly doing double duty below. With more guests comes more… Let's say, “activity.” So let’s talk about how to party without pushing your septic system to the brink.

Pro tip: stagger your water usage. Ask guests to space out showers or run the dishwasher after the party instead of during it. If you’re expecting a big crowd, consider renting a portable restroom (they’re not just for festivals anymore). And remind your guests (kindly, of course) not to flush anything weird. No wipes, no floss, no mystery napkins. Your septic system isn’t picky, it’s just designed for the basics. Follow these tips, and your party will go off without a hitch… or a backup.

Summer Smarts: Keeping Your Septic Cool During the Hot Months

June kicks off the season of sunshine, sprinklers, and summer fun but rising temperatures can also mean rising risks for your septic system if you’re not careful. While your tank may be out of sight, don’t let it slip out of mind just because the weather’s nice.

Hot months can dry out the drain field area and increasing water usage can lead to a tricky combo for older systems. Be mindful of back-to-back loads of laundry, overwatering the lawn, or long showers after a beach day. Also, summer is prime time for guests, BBQ’s, and extra flushes... Space it out to give your tank time to breathe (and drain). Remember, keeping it cool isn't just about AC- your septic system needs some TLC too!
