In chilly temps, a 💩 vehicle thermostat tends to get stuck in the 'I'm on vacation' mode, 🏖🌴aka open position, making the engine run cooler than a drunk tank in July🥶🤮🥴, leading to fu**ed up heater performance, bu****it fuel efficiency⛽️, and sluggish engine performance - like a grandma's Sunday drive. The engine might never hit its optimal temp🌡, creating hazardous⚠️ driving conditions and increased emissions because, well, cold engines are like cold hearts🖤 - they don't function well.

-Key Problems with Thermostats in Brrr-Weather:
- Stuck-Open Thermostat (The Usual Suspect): The thermostat forgets how to close, letting coolant party through the radiator all day, every day. This means the engine's temp resembles the fridge's temp, resulting in lukewarm air from the vents. Slow Warm-Up Times: The cabin takes its sweet time to warm up, or the temp gauge stays stuck on the 'Brrr' side. Engine Performance Issues: Cold engines are like sleep deprived teenagers- they're not efficient, leading to higher fuel consumption and potentially spark plug foul play.

-Stuck-Closed Thermostat (The Less Common Cold-Weather Culprit): A thermostat stuck closed will have the engine overheating, even in polar vortex temps, because coolant's stuck in a ' Groundhog Day' loop, unable to reach the radiator to chill. Erratic Temperature Gauge: The temp gauge's like a rollercoaster - fluctuating wildly or stuck on 'cold' like a broken record. Signs of a Thermostat Gone Rogue: No Heat in Cabin: The heater's blowing cold air like it's January in Antarctica. Engine Runs Cold: The temp gauge's stuck on 'C' like it's glued there.

-Cold Engine Noise: The engine growls like a bear, rough and loud, as it struggles to wake up.

-Check Engine Light: The car's computer throws a code like a bouncer at a club, 'You're not warm enough, buddy!' Solutions: Replace the Thermostat: Swapping out the stuck-open or stuck-closed thermostat's the main fix.

-Check Coolant Level: Make sure the system's not running on fumes - low coolant can fake a bad thermostat.

-Inspect Cooling Fan: A wonky radiator fan running amok can make the engine run cold, like it's trying to win a bet.

Are you exhausted😮‍💨 from getting ripped off by overpriced garages? Well, so am I, which is why I'm launching my own shop to take some work away from those big guys who think you have no options. Newsflash: you do now. I saw a random vehicle quote for brake work on one axle, and the labor prices ranged from $243 to $285 - that's just for one axle! I'll do both axles for that price, because I'm a giver. If Kelly Blue Book says a job is 500 labor, I'll charge half, which is $250. And don't worry, I won't judge you for your car preferences or your love life. I just want to save you money and get your car on the road so you can smile and spend that saved cash on something worthwhile. Like taking your kids out or your significant other, or, you know, whatever floats your boat. I'm not a fan of the 'BG's' (Big Garages) and their shady practices - quoting low, only to find more work and charge more, making you wait, and having the audacity to charge you for every little thing. That kind of treatment makes me want to... well, let's just say I'm here to offer a better alternative. At Asshole's Garage, I'll be upfront, honest, and fair. If I can do it cheaper than half, I will. I'm here to help you help me help everybody save a buck or two. Because let's face it, we need it. Hoping for business starting Monday, January 26th, 2026. I have limited space, so I'll be taking on a few jobs at a time, except for oil changes, brakes, alternator swaps, batteries, and quick jobs - those I can do more of. I'll work with you on times, whether it's early morning, lunch break, or late night, to get you in and out quickly with a smile - an as***le smile, of course.
