Ever notice your lawn looks a little brown? You take a closer look and see the blades of grass are orange. Lawn rust is a type of fungus that typically grows late in the season. It rarely kills grass but can stunt its growth. In most cases a boost of nitrogen fertilizer is all that’s needed to cure it.

A different task today extending a culvert pipe to prevent erosion. After several decades the water from the existing metal pipes began eroding under the concrete channel and creating holes in the gravel driveway above.

We used a skid steer to pull the large pipe into the channel, secured the connections, and secured the end of the pipes with rebar.

This will allow the water to flow an additional 20 feet toward the opening and prevent further erosion.

Nutsedge (lime/light green sprouts) can be difficult to remove in lawns. These perennial weeds have underground tubers than can survive over winter and sprout the next year. This is why cutting or pulling them is often ineffective.

Sedge thrives in wet or compacted soil. We can removed sedge using specialized herbicide, one or two follow up treatments are often needed to ensure all tubers are eliminated.
