Candy bowls are full, costumes are ready, and the porch is looking appropriately spooky. Just make sure the only unexpected visitors knocking tonight are trick-or-treaters. Happy Halloween from our team, and here’s to a night filled with treats instead of pests.

The bugs finally disappear, and you stop thinking about pest control. Then a few months later, something scurries across the kitchen floor, and you’re right back to wondering where it came from. That cycle gets old quickly.

Year-round pest protection helps you take a more proactive approach. Regular service gives your pest control team opportunities to monitor activity, address developing problems, and recommend preventive steps as your home’s needs change. From cockroaches in the kitchen to ants and spiders elsewhere in the house, ongoing attention matters.

At Scott’s Termite & Pest Control, we start with an inspection and build a plan around your home and the pests causing trouble. Our family-owned team has been helping local homeowners since 1974, providing residential pest control in Bloomington, Greenwood, and surrounding communities.

You don’t have to wait for another unwelcome surprise. Call Scott’s today for a free quote and ask about keeping your home protected throughout the year.

One side of the house looks perfectly normal. The sunny side apparently has a guest list.

If you’ve noticed clusters of black-and-red bugs on your siding, you’re seeing a familiar fall habit of box elder bugs. Around Bloomington, sun-warmed walls give them a place to gather as temperatures cool, especially on the south and west sides of homes.

The part worth getting ahead of? Small gaps around windows, doors, and siding can let them move from sunbathing outside to sheltering inside.

Take a look around the areas where they’re gathering. Worn weatherstripping, torn screens, and openings around utility lines are good places to start.

At Scott’s Termite & Pest Control, our box elder bug control in Bloomington addresses exterior gathering spots and the entry points that can lead to repeat indoor sightings.

Seeing more bugs on the siding than you’d like? Reach out today, and let’s work on keeping that fall gathering outside.

A spider on the wall is usually just the part you see, not where the activity actually starts. The real buildup happens in quiet areas of the home that don’t get much disruption. Scott’s Termite & Pest Control can help assess those spaces and provide practical steps to keep spiders from settling in.

09/24/2026

Roach activity often blends into normal household routines at first. A sighting here, a sign there, usually gets overlooked or explained away. Meanwhile, they continue expanding in unseen areas. The real challenge is recognizing the pattern before it becomes widespread.

09/22/2026

Bed bugs are one of the most disruptive pests inside a home because they directly affect sleep and comfort. They spread easily between rooms through furniture, clothing, and luggage. Early detection and proper treatment are key to stopping them from growing further. Scott’s Termite & Pest Control provides reliable elimination solutions tailored to the problem.

09/17/2026

Cockroaches are most active in areas where they can easily find moisture and food. Kitchens and bathrooms provide constant access to both, especially around sinks, drains, and appliances. They also offer plenty of hiding spots during the day, allowing infestations to grow unnoticed. Over time, these conditions make these rooms the most common entry points for visible activity.

Noticing more spiders than usual indoors? A professional inspection can help determine where the activity is coming from and how to prevent it from spreading.

09/10/2026

Reliable roach control starts with understanding how these pests enter and survive inside homes. They often travel through plumbing lines, gaps in walls, or packages brought indoors. Once inside, they seek out food, moisture, and dark hiding places. Long-term control requires removing both the pests and the conditions that allow them to thrive.

09/08/2026

Infestations often begin in sleeping areas where bed bugs have easy access to a host. They hide in mattress seams, box springs, and cracks in bed frames. Over time, their presence becomes more noticeable through stains and bite patterns.
