TLDR: I've decided to suspend my laundry service at the end of May until further notice.

Summer break is just around the corner and my family will have a full house and full calendar. Then in September we are welcoming a new baby, and I won't be up for doing anyone's laundry but my own for a while.

I know that there are just a few gift cards floating around out there...

If you have one of them, please plan to make an appointment as soon as possible.

The last day to make an appointment online will be May 25th.

So many people have asked me if it's weird to wash and fold other people's underwear. Here are my thoughts on the subject:

1- I'm just so glad you wear it.

2- I'm just so glad you wash it.

3- I'm a person. I, too, wear underwear. I get it. I get ALL of it. It is what it is.

4- My only job is to wash it appropriately in regards to color, fabric, and construction (white with whites, delicates on a gentle cycle, no sneaky little red pieces discoloring entire loads of laundry).

Otherwise, the size, shape, style, color, age, etc of your underwear is none of my business and I don't spend time or mental energy judging you for it.

(Unless it's soft... Like really buttery soft... And then I'm just jealous because I didn't even know that was a thing and my household hasn't leveled up like that.)

5- Your privacy is important to me. I'm not even telling other people your name, let alone private details about your clothing.

So, regarding underwear... I'm cool with it if you are.

Putting your laundry out for pick up and going off to do *literally* anything else.

Make an appointment for laundry service with Sage & Cedar Laundry Co. and take a load off. What you do with the time you'll save is up to you!

*Hip hop, even a simple 3 step, is clearly not my forte 😂😂😂

Hot water is not always necessary. Today's detergents are formulated to work just as well in warm or cold water.

One dryer sheet per load, MAX! Dryer sheets leave a residue that clogs your dryer's lint screen causing it to be less efficient.

Don't ignore the fabric car label! it's not the end of the world if you do, but your clothing will look better for longer if you follow the label.

Clean your washer! Washers can clean clothes well, but they can't clean themselves. They can hold on to the dirt and bacteria that wash out of your clothes. Odors, bacteria, and even salmonella can grow in your machine. Add distilled vinegar to a hot cycle every 4-6 weeks to keep things sanitary.

Take bleach out of your laundry regimen completely. many white clothes are made from gray fabrics that have been dyed white. Bleach causes them to yellow and degrades the pigment in the dye, causing them to return to gray. Bleach hard on fabrics and will cause them to wear much faster.
