Place a whole raw egg into your planter. It slowly decomposes and becomes natural fertilizer under the soil!
Also, don't throw out the water you boil your eggs in. The water contains tons of calcium that your plants will thrive from. Just let the water cool and pour it into the soil around your plants.

Tip of the Day
Add coffee filters into the bottom of your planters before adding soil. They allow water to soak through, but keep the soil in the pot rather than falling out through the holes. This saves your outdoor space and is ideal for keeping mud out of your house if you have indoor plants.
