Heather Micha, a lifelong resident of Broome County, New York, has announced her candidacy for the New York State Assembly in the 123rd District. She is a dedicated public servant and community leader. As a mother of two sons, Micha has successfully balanced numerous roles, including running her own business, helping to develop other small businesses and nonprofits, engaging in community activism, and volunteering her time for the community she cares deeply about. Throughout all these endeavors, she has consistently prioritized her most important role: being a mother.
For the past 14 years, Heather Micha has owned and operated Nice to Micha Cleaning Service, founded and developed several businesses and nonprofits in the community, and advocated for both the Crime Victims Assistance Center and the Women's Hope Home.
Micha has served as President of the NYSW Binghamton Chapter and the Broome County Status of Women Council. She is currently the Vice President of Great Women of Royalty, Inc., and has served as Corresponding Secretary for the Broome County Republican Women's Club.
Heather Micha comes from a family with deep roots in farming and entrepreneurship. She strongly believes that agriculture and business are essential for strengthening our economy. Micha will advocate for economic development and work to reduce overregulation to support hardworking farmers and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, Micha is committed to bringing accountability, finding new energy solutions, and addressing the challenges of affordable housing, homelessness, and mental health in our community. She strives to create effective solutions that promote well-being and support everyone. Additionally, Micha understands the crucial role education plays in shaping our future.
Heather Micha graduated from SUNY Broome and SUNY Empire State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management, and Economics. She is currently completing her Master of Arts in Applied Theological Studies at Bridges Christian College & Seminary, which she expects to finish this November. Heather Micha is also one of the founders of Divine Mission Ministries, Inc. Additionally, she founded Harmony Memorial Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting children in the Broome County area who have been affected by trauma resulting from substance use disorder (SUD).
Heather Micha demonstrates outstanding resilience and energy, along with a strong motivation to seize the opportunity to become the next 123rd NYS Assemblywoman and to commit to strengthening local communities across the region. Her commitment to serving the community is evident and will undoubtedly inspire positive change. Micha brings a unique quality to the table that no other candidate offers: a strong sense of unity—an area in which Donna excels. It is essential that we come together and work collaboratively to foster meaningful change and create a positive impact in our community for both current and future generations.
The 123rd Assembly District is located entirely within Broome County and includes the City of Binghamton, the town of Vestal, the town of Union, Johnson City, and Endicott. Current Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo is not running for re-election.
The Primary Election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, and the General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
