Interesting one today. Oxidized rug pad that has adhered to this beautiful Brazilian cherry hardwood. These folks are moving out and another company in town said that the floor would have to be completely sanded and recoated. I'm glad they contacted us!
Some gentle coaxing with a ssd (specialized scraping device) that won't damage the poly. Followed up by a controlled application of a polyurethane safe solvent. Then cleaned, buffed and viola! Saved the poly at a fraction of the sand and recoat cost. We'll be back to clean the rest of the floor once they sell the home.
