Looking for Help/Resources for Family in Biddeford
I’m reaching out because my cousin, her wife, and their service dog are currently facing homelessness and have nowhere safe to stay.
They’ve already tried several resources. Seeds of Hope is currently full, General Assistance was unable to place them because available options are full, and the Portland shelter told them they must be Portland residents. Right now, they’re running out of options.
Unfortunately, I cannot house them myself due to lease restrictions and not having the means to support additional people in my home.
My cousin has a serious hip issue, but both she and her wife are willing to do whatever they can to help in exchange for assistance. They can cook, clean, help with errands, pet care, house sitting, or other tasks. They’re also actively looking for work and are willing to take almost any opportunity immediately available.
If anyone knows of:
* Temporary housing
* A room for rent
* Emergency shelter options
* Churches or organizations that help families
* Employment opportunities
* Other resources in Southern Maine
