With the cold temps and snow behind us, septic systems can still take a hit. Frozen or stressed lines, slow drains, and backups are more common after a freeze if systems aren’t properly maintained.

A few quick reminders:
• Avoid leaving water running nonstop — it can overload your drain field
• Keep vehicles and equipment off the drain field
• Stay on schedule with septic pumping and maintenance
