In Loving Memory of Phil
Today, we honor someone who wasn’t just one of our best customers—he was truly part of the Sleisons Detailing family.
Phil has been with us since day one, showing up EVERY single month to support our business for YEARS. He believed in what we were building from the very beginning, and his loyalty never wavered. But Phil wasn’t just loyal with his business—he was loyal with his friendship.
He was a proud Michigan State fan, and me? Well, I bleed Michigan maize and blue. We went back and forth all the time, teasing each other, making sports bets and playoff bets, always laughing no matter who won. It became a tradition I’ll never forget. Everytime I was there we would listen to the sport radio station together and talk all Detroit sports.
But beyond the jokes and rivalry, Phil always made sure I was taken care of. That’s just the kind of man he was. I’ll never forget how he gave me my first polisher when I was just starting out, and how he brought me a warm coat on those extra cold days when he knew I was out there grinding. He’d feed me even when I wasn’t hungry. That’s who Phil was—always thinking of others, always giving without expecting anything back.
And I’ll always hear his voice saying, “Don’t call me sir, call me Phil.” He hated being called sir because he didn’t see himself as above anyone. He was humble, real, and had a heart of gold.
We’ll miss shining up his King Ranch every month, and we’ll miss the laughs, the bets, and the friendship. Sleisons Detailing won’t be the same without him, but his memory will always ride with us.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.”
– 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Rest easy, Phil. Thank you for everything.
