Do skunks burrow underground?
Skunks have no problem burrowing underground to create a den, although there are other options they'd prefer first. They’re fairly adaptable animals, changing their diets to suit whatever it is available - and even going as far as doing that with their habitat and shelter choices too. In suburban areas, the spaces beneath decking and porches make for great den sites, minimal digging necessary. Burrows that have been abandoned by other animals are also snapped up, alongside logs that are hollowed out, piles of brush or timber, hollows that are slightly higher up on trees, etc.
