This is good info. There is no replacement for properly maintaining your pool water chemistry.
Clear water is not necessarily safe water for you or your equipment.

🚨**POOL OWNER PSA: BEWARE THE FAKE POOL GUY & HIS MAGIC DUST!**🚨
Let’s talk about a little internet sensation flooding your feed right now — Simple Scoop. Oh yes, the product that promises “just one scoop and your pool is perfect.” Sounds like a dream, right?
Well, wake up, Dorothy… because you’re not in Cedar Run, Texas any more.
(Spoiler alert: Cedar Run, TX doesn’t even exist.)
Meet “Paul the Pool Guy” – Facebook’s latest pool expert. He’s a “trusted pro” from this magical mystery town. His FB page popped up recently and instantly racked up hundreds and hundreds of likes, follows, and glowing comments. That’s impressive… until you realize that:
👉 No one in the pool industry has ever heard of Paul.
👉 His town isn’t real.
👉 His tips are generic and suspiciously vague.
👉 The page is operated by (drum roll…) the manufacturer of Simple Scoop — Pool Day.
👉 And those “real people” commenting on the ads? Yeah… paid actors, bots, or Uncle Larry with a wig and a green screen.
Let’s get to the product itself. What’s in this miracle powder? Well, it’s a little secretive — but we do know it contains copper sulfate and non-chlorine oxidizers. The ad says, “just add Simple Scoop and nothing else is needed,” yet the fine print (you know, the stuff no one reads) says: “Maintain properly balanced and sanitized water.”
Wait, what? Isn’t that… all the normal stuff you already do?
🎯Bottom line:
There is no magic scoop, tab, or potion that replaces the 5 basics of pool care:
✅ Good water balance and proper sanitizer levels
✅ Solid circulation and filtration
✅ Removing organic debris
✅ Brushing your pool
✅ And a dash of good old-fashioned common sense
If your pool needs a helper, sure – mineral systems like BlueRay XL (which actually chelate copper to reduce staining) can play a role. But don’t fall for a Facebook fairy tale with a fake town, a fake pool pro, and a fake following.
👻 Paul the Pool Guy, wherever you are (or aren’t) — we see you. And we’re not buying your scoop of smoke and mirrors.
Stay smart, pool people. And remember: If someone has to lie to sell a product… what does that say about the product?
