🚨 🚨 HUGE SCAM ALERT 🚨 🚨

I have been waiting to write this post, but as of today I have extended all of my patience and I need to let other small businesses know that this could potentially happen to you. About three weeks ago I was contacted by a man wanting me to clean his elderly mothers house on Fridays. We agreed on a price and we had standing appointments for Fridays. The first Friday appointment that we had-he messaged me quite early in the morning telling me we had to reschedule for the following Friday because he lost his father in the night. Being that I lost my father this year, I was more than understanding and told him no problem at all. Wished his family well. The following Friday he needed to reschedule due to the funeral. In this time frame- he had sent me a check and had it priority delivered to me. The first time I deposited the check-it had a hold on it & bounced. I told this man what happened and he said he "contacted his bank and it was due to the account being audited" he said I will mail you a new check. He did exactly that, and issued me a new check with a tracking number. Today when trying to deposit the check once again-it got stopped hours later as fraudulent. Wells Fargo contacted me and said they were no longer continuing their relationship with me and terminated my account. I ran to the atm as fast as I could and took out as much money that I could (banks were already closed) Contacting customer support got me absolutely no where. NOW, onto these checks- when I tell you they were so legit looking, I mean it. Security marks that change with heat, water marks that change color when you rub it with a coin..literally no reason that I would think that these checks could be fraud. I feel extremely naive in this situation and its now caused me to lose out on 3 weeks of bookings that I could have had for the past 3 Fridays, my bank account being terminated and potentially much more. PLEASE SHARE THE WORD & PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS. Learn from my mistakes.

For the life of me I still cannot wrap my head around what this person was trying to achieve by doing this. So much time and energy wasted. Good luck out there!
