Small businesses are built on hard work, determination, and the support of the communities they serve.

At We Love Messes, we’ve always believed in working hard, creating opportunities for others, and helping our customers care for their homes and businesses.

Lately, we’ve been facing some significant challenges behind the scenes. Banking complications, technology and scheduling disruptions, and financial pressures have made it increasingly difficult to manage our day-to-day operations.

But here’s what we want our community to know:

We’re still here. We still have customers who need us, people who want to work, and a business worth fighting for. ❤️

We’re doing everything we can to overcome these challenges, but right now, we could really use our community’s support.

🧰 Toolbox Thursday looks a little different this week.

I’ve always tried to prioritize my employees as people, including their mental health. But this week, for the first time, I’ve truly prioritized and invested in understanding my own.

And it has changed the way I understand other people.

For years, I didn’t understand what my own mental health was doing to me. So when I saw others struggling in similar ways, I sometimes gave them the same pressure I gave myself:

Try harder. Push through it. Just do it.

But you cannot will yourself out of a disability.

Sometimes the most important tool we can offer someone is understanding the barrier—and helping find another way through it. 💛

We Love Wednesday 💙

Yesterday, I was on my way to take care of a key situation when one of our longtime accounts called. Something had spilled all over the floor during a move-out, and they needed help.

I was wearing my fancy pants—the ones that make an appearance maybe twice a year—but I stopped at the store, grabbed what I needed, got down on my hands and knees, and took care of it.

We don’t just love messes. We genuinely love what we do, we love our customers, and we take care of the people who trust us with their spaces. Sometimes that means changing plans, grabbing supplies, and jumping right back into the field. 💙

Start where you are.

Figure out which part of the mess feels most urgent—or is bothering you the most—and set a timer for 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

Dishes, laundry, tidying—it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to finish everything. Just use the time you have to make it a little better than it was. 💙

💚 WE LOVE WEDNESDAY! 💚

I know I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, but this week’s We Love Wednesday deserves an introduction I’ve been VERY excited to make!

Everyone, meet Delsie, our new Office Manager! 🎉

Delsie and I actually worked together years ago, and when I realized We Love Messes had officially reached the point where I needed another person behind the scenes, I knew exactly who I wanted.

Anyone who knows me knows I operate at approximately 137 mph. 😂 I talk-to-text almost everything, don’t always have time to proofread what I send, usually have about 14 things happening at once, and somehow my employees have learned not only to survive my chaos, but actually thrive in it.

Apparently the solution wasn’t for me to become less chaotic.

It was to hire someone organized. 😂

And Delsie is ORGANIZED.

I’m genuinely so excited about what having her here is going to mean for We Love Messes—not only for me, but for our employees and our customers. As we’ve grown, there are simply more moving pieces, more people, and more things happening every day. Having someone dedicated to helping keep all of those pieces moving is HUGE.

She’s not here to eliminate the chaos.

She’s here to organize it. 😂

And apparently bring me apples. 🍎 She brought me the ones sitting on her desk in this picture, so clearly this hiring decision is already paying off.

Protect Your Information

Today’s Tip Tuesday comes from a very personal reminder about how important it is to protect your identity and personal information.

I’ve spent 14 hours so far dealing with an incredibly complicated digital security situation, and it has been one of the most stressful experiences I’ve ever been through.

My first priority was protecting my kids, my employees, my customers, and my business. I’ve taken extensive steps to secure everything, and multiple layers of monitoring are in place. At this time, we have no indication that any customer information has been accessed or compromised, but we’re continuing to monitor everything carefully.

Take a few minutes to check your own digital security. Review your passwords, enable two-factor authentication, use passkeys when available, check what devices and accounts are connected, and monitor your financial accounts.

A little time spent protecting your information now can save you an incredible amount of time and stress later.
