What does a commercial pest program need to include to pass an audit?

Documented service history, a defined monitoring schedule, corrective-action records, and evidence of structural exclusion — inspectors want the paperwork as much as the result.

Sasquatch Pest Control builds commercial programs for facilities across Whatcom and Skagit County on an Integrated Pest Management model:

• Routine monitoring on a defined schedule
• Structural exclusion to stop entry at the building envelope
• IPM-based treatment, targeted rather than broadcast
• Audit-ready documentation and service reporting
• A plan written for your facility, not a template

Restaurants, food handling, property management, healthcare, warehousing and multi-family each carry different requirements. We build to yours.

When is a wasp nest dangerous enough to call someone?

Once the colony is established and defending itself — usually late summer, when yellowjackets are at peak population and most aggressive. A nest that looked harmless in June can be a genuine hazard by August.

Sasquatch Pest Control removes stinging insect nests throughout Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County. The three we deal with most in the Pacific Northwest:

Yellowjackets — ground and wall void nests, aggressive when disturbed
Bald-faced hornets — large grey aerial nests in trees and under eaves
Paper wasps — open combs under eaves, soffits and decks

We locate active nests, treat them directly, and identify the conditions bringing them back to the same spot each year. Please do not knock down a nest yourself — disturbing an established yellowjacket colony is how people get stung repeatedly.

Sasquatch Pest Control offers a free pest inspection in Bellingham and throughout Whatcom and Skagit County.

An inspection tells you what you actually have — the species, how they got in, how far it has gone, and what it will take to solve — before anyone quotes you a price.

We are a family owned, locally operated pest and wildlife company. No hidden fees, no upsells, no scare tactics. If we cannot help, we will tell you that too.

Our residential and commercial programs are built around Integrated Pest Management: inspect first, identify the species, treat the cause rather than the symptom, and close the entry points so it does not come back.

How do you know if you have rats or mice in the walls?

Scratching after dark, droppings along walls or in the garage, chewed packaging, and a musky smell near nesting areas. In the Pacific Northwest, activity climbs sharply once the weather turns cold and wet and rodents start looking for somewhere warm.

Sasquatch Pest Control handles rodents across Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County by finding how they got in, not just trapping what is already inside. A mouse fits through a gap the width of a pencil, so exclusion is what actually ends the problem.

Our approach: inspection, entry point identification, monitoring and trapping, then structural exclusion so the next generation cannot follow the same route in.

Left alone, rodents chew wiring, contaminate insulation and multiply quickly. Acting at the first scratching sound is far cheaper than acting after a winter of it.

Why do stink bugs and lady beetles pile up on the house every autumn?

They are looking for somewhere warm to overwinter. On sunny fall days they gather on south and west facing walls, then work into attics, wall voids and crawlspaces through gaps you would never notice.

Once inside they stay dormant until a warm winter day wakes them — which is why they reappear indoors in January and February, long after you thought the problem was over.

Sasquatch Pest Control treats fall invaders across Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County before they get in, because exterior prevention works and interior treatment mostly does not. We treat siding, eaves, soffits and window and door gaps, then identify entry points for sealing.

What to watch for: large numbers on sunny siding, insects clustering at attic vents, and the distinct odour when a stink bug is disturbed.

Why do ants keep coming back after you spray them?

Because the spray kills foragers, not the colony. The nest keeps producing replacements, so the trail is back within days. That is why over-the-counter products feel like they work for a week and then stop.

Sasquatch Pest Control treats ants across Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County by identifying the species first, then targeting the colony itself. The three we see most in the Pacific Northwest each behave differently:

Carpenter ants — excavate wood, almost always tied to a moisture problem
Odorous house ants — trail indoors for food and water, give off a coconut smell when crushed
Moisture ants — nest in damp, decaying wood, a warning sign for the structure

Correct identification changes the treatment entirely. We inspect for the conducive conditions behind the infestation — moisture, food sources, entry points — because removing those is what keeps them gone.

Why does pest control keep failing on the same house?

Because treatment without exclusion is a subscription to the same problem. If the gap that let them in is still open, the next ones walk straight through it.

Sasquatch Pest Control does the repair work as well as the treatment across Whatcom and Skagit County — sealing entry points, rebuilding damaged crawlspace and attic access, screening vents, and closing the gaps rodents and insects actually use.

Wet Pacific Northwest winters make this worse than most regions. Moisture damage opens new entry points every year, and moisture is itself what draws carpenter ants, moisture ants and rodents in the first place. Fix the water problem and the pest problem gets much smaller.

Why are there suddenly spiders all over the house?

Spiders follow their food. A rise indoors almost always means other insects are already present — the spiders are a symptom, not the cause. Treat only the spiders and they come back, because the food source is still there.

Sasquatch Pest Control reduces spider activity in Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County homes by treating the insects they feed on and the harborages they use, not just what is visible on the wall.

Most homeowners here choose our quarterly preventative programme, which includes exterior treatment and dewebbing around eaves, siding, window frames and entry points.

Spider season in the Pacific Northwest peaks in late summer and autumn, when males roam looking for mates and end up indoors. Treating before that peak is far more effective than reacting during it.

What happens if the pests come back between services?

We come back out and re-treat at no additional charge. That is what our 100% guarantee means, and it is the reason most of our customers stay on a preventative programme rather than calling around every spring.

Pest pressure is not a one-off event in the Pacific Northwest. Carpenter ants wake in spring, yellowjackets peak in late summer, rodents push indoors as soon as it turns cold and wet. A programme that covers the whole cycle costs less than three emergency call-outs.

Sasquatch Pest Control serves homes and businesses throughout Bellingham, Whatcom County and Skagit County, and our customers have voted us Cascades Best Pest Control and a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite.
