This is one of the ways body doubling works:
Parent is on a work project, taking breaks as she needs to & helping me with resetting her home. Her eldest has the chore of dishes, so I'm monitoring & available if he needs help with it, & I'm helping keep him on task as I clear counters & pitch in where needed. Sometimes all humans need is someone calm in their overwhelm, & sometimes they need a small nudge to stay on task. I'm here to provide an ear, physically help where needed, and guidance where appropriate.
In the end, house is livable again, kids are learning to care for their space, & no one feels judged.

These are from a body double session a few weeks ago. I worked with my client-turned-friend on her bedroom & closet. We took out about 10 bags of clothes, shoes & other unneeded items. We worked together, and talked through why she wanted to keep things, without judgement on my part. (We're working on her not judging herself.)

I will never shame anyone for what they decide to keep, or what they decide to get rid of. If it helps, I'll share my own ridiculous keeps and tosses.

This kind of work takes a lot of trust for people, and we understand that here. We'll never purposefully make you feel bad for your space, and your decisions. Sometimes we ask seemingly invasive questions to help you get to the decision you want to make, but we do it with kindness and understanding before anything else.
