Mel’s Laundry Lounge is officially open again just in time for the weekend! 👏🏼🧺

We know so many of you have been itching to get back in and we didn’t want to make you wait any longer, so this is just a low-key opening. While we’re up and running, the full transformation isn’t complete just yet. But trust us… the changes coming are worth the wait. 🩷✨

Here’s what’s new so far:

✨Brand‑new card machines (no more quarters or hunting for an ATM!)

🚨Final Update Before Opening 🚨

All of our brand new machines are officially installed and tested, and as of this morning the vending machines are in and the kiosks are installed!

That said, we want to be fully transparent with you all. We’ve encountered a few unexpected hurdles along the way—installation delays, programming issues, customer service back-and-forth, and a handful of behind‑the‑scenes challenges. Even so, we cannot stress enough how hard our entire team has been working to get the new Mel’s Laundry Lounge up and running for our community.

We know this process has taken longer than expected, and we are beyond grateful for your patience, support, and encouragement. A lot of care has gone into every decision for this space. Countless hours have been spent tracking down answers, getting the right people on the phone, fast‑tracking solutions, and making sure every detail we chose truly serves your laundry needs in the best possible way.

At this point, we are down to a few remaining backend items—mainly programming and permit approvals—but we are actively pushing to get everything wrapped up. We are confident that we will be reopening this week, even if a few cosmetic touches continue while we’re open.

👉 Wash & Fold Update:
Wash & Fold service may resume before full public self‑service access is available. Getting the machines fully operational for a manager first is a much simpler step, so if you’re in need of laundry service sooner, keep an eye on our page. We’ll post as soon as Wash & Fold is live again. Current Wash & Fold customers should also watch for direct communication from our team.

Today we’re removing all of our old machines, and we’ve officially started pouring the new concrete floor. It’s a big step toward creating a better, more efficient, and more enjoyable space for you!

👉 For full‑service customers:
If you currently have an active wash & fold order with us, don’t worry — it will be completed and delivered by Friday. However, we’re not accepting any new orders until renovations are finished.

Our brand‑new equipment is scheduled to be installed on Monday, but we still have a few additional updates to complete after that. While construction timelines can always shift, we’re hopeful to reopen by the end of next week.

We will be closed to the public today as our contractors work on redoing our water lines.

✅ Wash & Fold service will continue as usual, but please understand the possibility of some delays in order completion.

🚧 Renovation Update 🚧

We’ve hit a little bump in the road during our ongoing renovations. The new plumbing installation required some extra attention, which means we’ve had to temporarily close.The good news? The plumbing should be ready and hooked back up tomorrow morning after inspection! ✅

We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

🛠️ Renovation Update at Mel’s Laundry Lounge! 🛠️

We want to give you a quick update on what’s happening behind the scenes—and in plain sight! Renovations are officially underway, and while we’re excited for the fresh upgrades coming your way, we know it’s been a bit bumpy lately.

First off, we’re sincerely sorry that so many machines are currently out of order. We know how important reliable washers are, and we’re working hard to get things back on track. We think the old washers must’ve heard about the renovations and decided to take early retirement. We didn’t even get to throw them a party!

💡 Here’s the good news:
Our brand-new machines have arrived! 🎉 They’re safely stored and waiting to be installed once the building renovations are complete and approved by inspectors. Check out the photos in this post to see what’s coming soon!

🚫 In the meantime, please note:
• Many of our large silver front-loaders at the front of the laundromat are down, so expect longer wait times for those machines.
• If a large machine isn’t available, please don’t stuff comforters, quilts, or oversized items into the small top-load washers—they’re not built for it and can break.
• Avoid overstuffing any machine, even with regular laundry.
• If you’re washing clothes or towels, break them into smaller loads and use the smaller machines. This helps keep the large machines free for bulky items like comforters and washable rugs.

🚧 Renovation Sneak Peek:
Take a look at the back section of the laundromat—what will eventually be our new bathroom is already built! We just need to make it pretty and install the toilet and sink. Please be cautious around the construction area and stay clear of any caution tape for your safety.

🛠️ Construction Update at Mel’s 🧺

Exciting changes are underway! 🚧

We’ve officially started construction in the back section of the laundromat as part of our renovation plans to bring you a new & improved Mel’s Laundry Lounge!

✅ We’re still OPEN!
However, please be advised:
• There will be workers in and out of the space.
• You may notice loud noises and some dust.
• The front area remains fully operational for your laundry needs.

🔜 In the next phase, we’ll be replacing old machines and redoing the floors. During that time, we’ll need to temporarily close — but don’t worry! We’ll post an update and clearly mark the door so you’ll know when that time comes.

🚧✨ Big News from Mel’s Laundry Lounge! ✨🚧

The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here! After nearly a full year of working behind the scenes to secure the proper licensing, permits, approvals, and contracts, we’re thrilled to announce that our highly anticipated retool and renovation is officially about to begin!
Within the next week, we’ll begin upgrading your laundry experience with:
🛁 A brand-new bathroom
🧼 All new machines
🪵 Fresh flooring
🔧 And more exciting improvements to come!

We’ll remain open as much as possible throughout the renovation, but there will be temporary closures to ensure everyone’s safety and allow our team to work efficiently. We’ll keep you updated right here on social media with any changes to our hours or services.

📦 Our Wash & Fold pickup/delivery service may also experience occasional delays during this time. If your order is affected, we’ll reach out directly and keep you informed every step of the way.

Our Wash & Fold service is taking a short break because our lovely attendant/laundry fairy, Katie, is off enjoying a well-deserved vacation! 🌴💆‍♀️

🧺 Wash & Fold will be CLOSED
📅 Friday, 8/22 – Monday, 8/25

Katie will be back on Tuesday, 8/26 to start catching up on regular orders and our commercial accounts.

➡️ If you don’t already have a scheduled order, please wait to drop off until Wednesday afternoon (8/27) so she can get back in the groove without being buried in laundry. 🫣
