Congrats to Bri and Yvette on their purchase of DCS Special Play (aka Strider)! They have big plans for this yearling's future and I'll be excited to follow along with his progress! 💚

😍 Ropers, barrel racers, mounted shooters... take a look! 😍

2024 AQHA filly in Belgrade, MT.

Multiple barrel and roping incentives - Riata Buckle, Royal Crown, FF, SWDC, CO Classic, VGBRA, and C-N.

Chevelle is smart, confident, and a fast learner. She round pens, is started longing, stands tied, fly sprays, has worn the ba****ck pad, and has been trailer loaded. She has taken everything pretty much in stride so far, but is by no means a deadhead. She's easy to catch and good for the farrier too.

Her papers are absolutely stacked with greats.
She is sired by Guyz Power Pak (Frenchmans Guy x Full A Irish Wh***ey by Paddy's Irish Wh***ey) He stood at my facility for a few seasons as a young stud and I was impressed by his build and disposition. He is a full sibling to Sarbra O'Quinn's good barrel mare, Bring It On Guys, current LTE over 350k, and is a maternal half sibling to Riata Buckle champion head horse, Yes I'm Sassy, lte over 139k. His dam is the leading producing daughter of Paddy's Irish Wh***ey with offspring earnings estimated over 800k.
Chevelle's dam is an NRCHA money earner and has produced earners of almost 12k in NRCHA earnings and 63.5 AQHA points in heeling. Her entire bottom dam line speaks for itself with earnings and progeny earnings. Her dam sire, Light N Fine, won the World's Greatest Horseman with Bob Avila.

Chevelle is currently 14.1 at the withers and a little butt-high. She is stout built with a big hip and a cute head, and has a gorgeous long mane to boot.
She is utd on everything, including a dental at the end of July. No scars or injuries. 5 panel N/N through parentage. She usually wears a fly mask since she has blue eyes. (And if cremello is not your thing, I have her 2025 palomino full sister available as well!)

She has been a lot of fun to work with and I've been continually impressed with her mind and athleticism. She is ready to go on and be a nice prospect for someone. I think she'll really thrive with a job.

Asking 7k
I need to get some young ones moved so I'm listing her very reasonably. Please pm if you are interested, as I'm not always able to get on FB to check comments.

💚💚 Just a quick edit to say congrats and thanks to my friend Don Brust on purchasing Mars! Being able to sell to someone I know, who I know treats their horses well, is beyond wonderful. I can't wait to see them together in the mounted shooting arena in the future. 💚💚

⭐️ Barrels, roping, mounted shooting prospect ⭐️
3 yo AQHA gelding in Belgrade, MT

⭐️ The Personality
Mars is a super cool guy who will be an excellent prospect for someone! He is a total sweetheart, meets you at the gate and loves attention, but is respectful and not pushy. He is kind and truly wants to please.

⭐️ The Training
He is saddling and longing/round penning nicely, and is ready to be started under saddle. Stands tied, fly sprays, good for the farrier.
If I still have him in 30 days he'll go to the trainer to be started.

⭐️ The Pedigree
Old school speed on top, cow on bottom - Magnolia Bar, Runnerelse, Playgun, and One Time Pepto on his papers.
Sired by Be A Magnolia Runner, 1D and pro rodeo winner with 75k plus in LTE and over 200k in PE.

⭐️ The Physical Details
Sticked 15.2 at the withers last week. He has good bone, a big hip, and a soft, kind eye.
Utd on everything, including a dental last week.
He has a small cosmetic blemish on his L front - never took a lame step - and has rubbed out part of his mane this summer sticking his head through the fence 🙃 5 panel n/n through parentage

⭐️ The Bonuses
Barrel racing incentives - Ruby Buckle, Triple Crown 100, Future Fortunes, CO Classic, Legends of the South

⭐️ The answer to the number 1 question -
7000 before he is officially started under saddle.

I don't usually post about the bad days. But sometimes this business will break your heart and fill your heart in the same day.

12 days ago Shine gave us a healthy, independent filly, and, as always, was a wonderful mama.
Yesterday morning Shine presented with colic. A vet exam determined a displacement, always a possible post-foaling complication. As she was not a surgical candidate, she had about a 50-50 chance of it self-correcting with supportive care. After hours of care, meds, and constant monitoring, her condition was deteriorating and a torsion was confirmed, with euthanasia the only option, leaving her 12 day old filly an orphan.

My mare Lorelai has had multiple foals for us but has become challenging to get bred the last couple years and is still not pregnant this year. But she's a lovely mare and has always been a great mama, so with a little help from chemistry in the form of hormones, we were able to graft Shine's filly onto Lorelai. They took to each other right away. Now we just have to get enough food into this baby for a few days until Lorelai's milk comes in.

Watching Lorelai accept this filly so completely and immediately... I can't describe it.
Everyone involved in equine repro has heard the phrase 'blessed are the broodmares'. If you know me, you know I am not religious, but these mares are truly special and deserve a place of honor. Rest easy Shiney mama, your baby is being taken care of 💚

Last week was a busy one, so busy that I am a full week late sharing our newest arrival!

Skittles foaled early last Sun morning and gave us another nice leggy c**t. She was happy to rest while he figured out how to work his legs, and was so careful not to lay on or step on him despite him wedging himself halfway under her in his efforts! These good mamas are priceless 💚💚

For those interested, this c**t is a full sibling to Wallace and Strider, and a maternal sibling to Thena and Mars.

Twix foaled early Saturday morning, a super cute bay c**t. I'll try to get some better pictures soon.
He's our first on-farm Raph foal this year
Mama and baby are doing great 💚

First foal of the season was born Sunday night!
Congrats Kaitlyn, she's adorable!
Mama and baby are doing well 💚

DCS Specialkindagun, aka Wallace, is off to start the next phase of his life with a student in the horsemanship program in Dillon. We will miss him, but I'm so happy to see another c**t go to a good home. 💚

For any interested, he has a bay yearling full brother available - papers pictured - that I just haven't listed yet.
(And for anyone wondering, this is Raph × Skittles)

🎉 Congrats to Quinn Schuppner on her purchase of DCS Sparkin Effort!! 🎉
I'm so excited to see what these two do in the future and can't wait to watch their journey together 😊😊

It's the first real snow the 2025 foal crop has seen, and so far they are not very impressed!
They almost never use their shelter 😆
(For those not aware, we have had an alarmingly warm and dry winter here...)
