The nor'easter was the cheapest gutter inspection you'll ever get. The results are still sitting on your house right now. 🌧️
Walk your perimeter and look for four things:
— Water still standing in the gutter trough. A day or two after a decent rain it should be empty. If it isn't, that run is pitched wrong or packed solid.
— Dark streaks or stains on the siding below the gutter line.
— Mulch trenched out, or splash craters against the foundation.
— Any gutter sagging or pulled away from the house.
Any one of those means water went somewhere it shouldn't — and the leaves are barely starting to drop. Whatever backed up in that storm backs up harder in three weeks, in colder weather.
Here's the catch. Those are all symptoms you can see from the driveway. The cause is up at the gutter line — bad pitch, an open seam, a gap where the gutter pulled off the house — and a cleaning by itself won't tell you which.
That's why we inspect while we clean. We document the condition of every run while we're up there and tell you exactly what's failing and what isn't. If the answer is "nothing, you're fine," that's worth knowing before winter too.
