Skunk spray gets all the attention. But the real trouble starts underground.
Skunks burrow under concrete slabs, deck footings, and shed foundations. Over time, this digging can lead to cracking, shifting, and structural damage you may not notice until it's costly to fix.

Signs to watch for:
Small holes in your yard
Undermined soil near porches or decks
A musky odor coming from underneath your home

Baby animal season is here. 🐿️

Squirrels and raccoons are breeding and moving into attics.

If you hear scratching or movement above the ceiling, there's a good chance a mother has nested with her young. Attempting to remove them yourself can put you at risk of bites or scratches, and orphaned babies left behind will die and create foul odors.

Call a wildlife professional for proper removal. 🦝 https://spklr.io/6184EKhEA

A bat in Miami County tested positive for the Rabies Virus. Reminder on what to do if you find a bat inside your home. # 1 Isolate the bat to a room and block off any possible exits under doors or windows. This will make capture much easier when we arrive # 2 Determine if anyone in the home has been exposed to the bat, especially during sleep where a bite or saliva transmission may have occurred. # 3 If a possible exposure has occurred, have the bat tested at your local health department. Miami County's health department is located in downtown Troy and this is a free service they offer. It is much better to have the bat tested than to put yourself and your family through post exposure rabies shots. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HgNpPJAPQ/

This is the first time a rabid bat has been found in Miami County since 2022.
