In Honor of Autism Awareness Month
Featuring: Johnny Russo’s Italian Restaurant – Banning, CA

Today, we’re honored to shine a spotlight on a business that represents so much more than great food — it represents love, resilience, and community support.

Johnny Russo’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a legacy built by a father with a heart for his family and his community. Owner John Russo named the restaurant after his son, Johnny, who is severely autistic 💙.

John’s journey started in the Italian deli world back in the 1970s 🥪. He later worked in Italian wholesale 🧀 — but after years of working for others, he wanted something more meaningful.

In 1987, he and his wife opened Paradise Pizza in Banning 🍕. Then in 1999, they launched Johnny Russo’s — a full-service restaurant rooted in family, faith, and a passion for bringing people together.

With two autistic sons, John has always made it a priority to support local schools, churches, and youth organizations 🏫⛪🏅 — and the community has continued to support him in return.
