Its that time of year to start firing up those furnaces!!!
Remember:
Check / replace those filters- Dirty filters can cause restrictive air flow, no heat, and can cause negative air quality in the home.
As we know humidifiers can be great. Remember, humidifiers can add too much moisture leading to dampness and mold. Humidifiers require regular maintains along with your furnace!!

Tips for getting ready for the Fall
- Clean the gutters and downspouts
-Test your emergency generator
-Protect your home from frozen pipes
-Have a heating professional check our heating system
-Have a certified chimney sweep inspect and clean the flues, check your fireplace damper
-Remove birds' nests from the chimney flues and outdoor electrical fixtures
-Make sure that all caulking around doors and windows are adequate to reduce heating/cooling loss.

Want to express the importance of a home inspection. Description on a home I recently did said "very new roof". Now this may be accurate, however to a home buyer you may automatically assume this means "no issues". Oh how wrong that can be!!! I found that the roofing was installed wrong in places causing an active water intrusion not only into the garage however in side of the dwelling as well.
Causing sub-floor issues and possible mold!
GET AN INSPECTION!!! NEVER ASSUME!!

As remodeling a home can be tiring and exhausting... the coolest is finding the past within the walls!!! These are just some things found in our kitchen. Absolutely amazing.

Understanding a home inspection:
A home inspector will not pass or fail a house but rather describe its physical condition and indicate what components and systems may need major repair or replacement.
This is for the buyers information and its intended use for a visual run down of what is discovered during the dwellings inspection.
An inspection report is not used to alter information to get your loan approved. Under no circumstance with MHIP take part in any action of alterations of what was seen and reported.

Just a reminder with all the rain happening this week that your down spouts are discharging away from the home. Missing down spout or inadequate down spouts can allow water to pool near the foundation. Eventually causing potential water intrusion to foundations/basements/crawlspace.

Helped today discover that the exterior siding and the wood trim around doors and window was causing water intrusion in the basement ceiling.
Exterior wood on a dwelling corrode and over time. As in the picture you can see how the wood is bowing away from the home exposing the underlay of the siding. This has allowed water intrusion into the home.
