Making the change from 2D drafting to 3D modeling has been both challenging and rewarding. Should have made the change years ago. If you are studying or working in building design drafting and not using an appropriate 3D program you are not achieving your full potential. You deserve the best and so do your clients.

Have completed plans for a passive solar house, an all but forgotten concept. House features concrete walls on North and West sides with full earthen berms. South facing window wall (80' long) with concrete floor heat sink. Roof overhang per Sun position calculation. For fire protection a red iron super structure, metal roof and skin plus metal stud framing throughout. Yet, easy living with large kitchen (28' work triangle) and 6' x 18' pantry, oversized bedrooms each with walk-in closet, combined laundry/sewing room, centrally located 12' x 14' storm shelter, and a spectacular view of farm pond and woods. Low cost utilities, fire/storms safety and custom living layout.

Have just drawn the largest kitchen island in all of my drafting. At owners request it is 8' wide and 10' long. There is sitting along one side and along an end plus farm sink and dishwasher on the other end. A key feature of a house designed for large family gathering.

A new trend is emerging of using transom windows (without lower windows) in bathrooms and master closets. They are set at standard transom height and may have an obscure glazing. The idea is to provide natural light while maintaining privacy. 2 or more are often married to accommodate large rooms.

Have completed preliminary floor plan for a working ranch house set on a cattle ranch in N.E. Oklahoma. House features an 18' x 20' laundry/storage area, 5' x 18' pantry, above ground concrete storm shelter, kitchen with large island, wrap-around porch (3 sides), and a large family room with trey ceiling. Clients who work very hard seven days a week and love their down time at home.

Close to completing preliminary plans for a lake cabin. Cabin sits on land at one end and over the water at the other end. Features a large covered deck and an open dock with mooring piers. The lake is private, beautiful and well known in Oklahoma's Green Country.
