PSA From Whack A Mole, LLC

Moles are NOT a seasonal pest STL. If you currently have mole activity and choose to let it go until Spring here are a few fun facts you should consider.
*Moles create new tunnels up to 30 feet per hour
*Moles travel up to one mile per hour in existing tunnels

Point being letting moles run unchecked until Spring allows them to expand their network of tunnels. That makes them harder to catch and creates more opportunities for male/female interaction. Don’t make that mistake.

These photos were all taken in the field 12/9 (after two weeks of snow and cold weather).

There are two universal misconceptions regarding moles.
1) Moles only eat grubs, FALSE.
Moles primary food source is worms. They do also eat grubs and other small insects.

2) Moles hibernate or become inactive during winter months, FALSE.
Moles are active all year and can create new tunnels at a rate of 30 feet per hour! What you see at the surface is a small part of their network which can reach depths up to 6 feet deep.
IF we get extended cold stretches moles will follow their food and push deeper. That said, extended cold stretches in the St. Louis region are fairly rare.

The number one thing we heard from new clients this year was “we let them go over the winter” hoping the moles would go away before Spring. In fact, that choice allows the mole(s) to build their network of tunnels (making them harder to catch) and creates more opportunities for male/female interactions. Don’t make this common mistake and call now for a FREE assessment and quote.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Historic rain levels in April and early May pushed moles deeper and into landscape beds during the primary mole mating season. In the past 7-10 days we have seen an explosion of surface runs and juvenile mole activity. Call now for a free consultation and quote!

We are focused on St Louis County, particularly the corridor West of 270 and East of Clarkson between Manchester Rd and Highway 44. That said, we are open to all opportunities.

I have three years of experience controlling moles with a local pest control company and 100% of my mole customers were happy with my service. I cleared a local Condominium complex on a 6 acre lot with 40-50 moles removed over a 12 month period. References available upon request.
