🐾 Thursday Treat Recipe: Easy Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats! 🥜

Looking for a simple way to spoil your pup? These homemade treats only require a few basic ingredients!

Ingredients:

🐶 1 cup plain pumpkin purée
🐶 ½ cup natural peanut butter
🐶 2 eggs
🐶 About 2½ cups whole-wheat flour

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Mix the pumpkin, peanut butter, and eggs together.
3. Slowly add the flour until a firm dough forms.
4. Roll the dough out and cut it into small shapes.
5. Place the treats on a lined baking sheet.
6. Bake for approximately 20–25 minutes, or until firm.
7. Allow them to cool completely before serving.

Store the treats in an airtight container for a few days, or freeze them to keep them longer!

⚠️ Important: Always check the peanut butter label carefully. It must be free of xylitol, also sometimes labeled as birch sugar, because it is extremely dangerous for dogs.

Introduce any new treat gradually, and remember that treats should only make up a small portion of your pet’s daily diet. 💛

Would your pup prefer a bone shape, heart shape, or classic little circle? 🐾

💙 Monday Memory Care Reminder 💙

Memory loss can change the way a person communicates, reacts, and understands the world around them. What may look like stubbornness, repetition, withdrawal, or agitation is often fear, confusion, frustration, or an unmet need.

A few gentle approaches can make a meaningful difference:

✨ Speak slowly and use simple, clear sentences
✨ Give one direction or choice at a time
✨ Avoid arguing, correcting, or repeatedly saying, “I already told you”
✨ Offer reassurance when they seem confused or afraid
✨ Keep routines as consistent as possible
✨ Use familiar music, photographs, stories, and activities
✨ Pay attention to possible causes of distress, such as pain, hunger, fatigue, loneliness, or overstimulation
✨ Allow extra time for them to process and respond

One of the most important things to remember is this:

They may not always remember what was said or what happened, but they can still feel whether they were treated with patience, dignity, and kindness.

Memory care is not just about helping someone remember. It is about helping them feel safe, understood, valued, and loved—even in moments when the world no longer feels familiar. 💙

🌿 Did You Know? Aloe Vera Is More Than a Sunburn Soother!

Aloe vera gel may also help:

✨ Hydrate and moisturize the skin
✨ Calm redness and irritation
✨ Support acne-prone skin
✨ Soothe symptoms associated with eczema and psoriasis
✨ Gently brighten the appearance of skin

You can apply plain aloe vera gel directly to your skin or mix it with oatmeal or brown sugar to create a gentle DIY exfoliating scrub.

⚠️ Important: Always perform a small patch test first—especially if your skin is already irritated, inflamed, or sensitive.

💛 Tomorrow is Cheer Up the Lonely Day 💛

Loneliness is something we don’t talk about nearly enough.

For many older adults, days can pass with very little conversation. Family may live far away, friends may have passed on, driving may no longer be an option, or getting out of the house may simply be difficult.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t a grand gesture…

It’s having someone who will:
💛 Sit and chat over a cup of coffee.
🚗 Go for a scenic drive or run an errand together.
🎲 Play a game or work on a puzzle.
📖 Read a favorite book or look through old photo albums.
🌳 Enjoy some fresh air.
🛒 Take a trip to the grocery store.
😊 Simply listen.

Companionship can brighten someone’s day, reduce feelings of isolation, and help them stay connected to the world around them.

This weekend, I have a small challenge for you:

📞 Call someone you haven’t talked to in a while.
🚪 Visit a neighbor or relative.
💌 Send a card.
💐 Drop off their favorite treat.
⏰ Spend just 15–30 minutes together.

I promise you -
You may never realize just how much that time means to them ‼️

🌿 Wellness Wednesday 🌿

Here’s your friendly reminder…
You can’t pour from an empty cup. 💛

When life gets busy, we’re usually the first thing to get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. But taking care of yourself doesn’t have to mean a spa day or an expensive vacation.

Sometimes wellness looks like…
✨ Drinking more water.
🚶 Taking a short walk.
📖 Reading a few pages of a good book.
🐾 Spending a few extra minutes with your pets.
🧹 Finally cleaning that one space that’s been stressing you out.
😴 Going to bed a little earlier.
📞 Calling someone you’ve been meaning to check in on.

Every small step counts.

💬. What’s one thing you’re doing this week to take care of yourself? 👇🏼

I’ll be cheering everyone on in the comments! ❤️

🐾 Flea Season is Coming…
Let’s Stay Ahead of It!

Did you know fleas can live dormant in your carpets over the winter? 😳

Here’s a simple DIY solution to help eliminate them before they become a problem:

✨ Mix:
• 4 Tbsp borax
• 6 Tbsp salt
• 6 Tbsp baking soda
• 30 drops lavender essential oil

✨ Sprinkle over carpet, let sit overnight, then vacuum
✨ Repeat weekly for about a month

✔️ Helps kill fleas
✔️ Dries out eggs
✔️ Repels new pests

⚠️ Always spot test first to protect your carpet!

As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to keep your home (and your fur babies) safe and comfortable 💛

If you’d rather not deal with it yourself, I offer pet care + home cleaning services to help keep everything fresh, clean, and pest-free 🧼🐶🐱
