It’s gonna get colder!!

To help prevent issues during the cold weather, prep Is inportant!

Take steps to prevent water pipes from freezing (such as insulating exposed pipes and allowing faucets to drip if needed).

Cut off water supply to outside shower.

If you turn off water to your home, be sure to cut power to your hot water heater if it’s tanked! (Not necessary if Tankless)

Ensure heating systems are working properly.

Bring pets indoors and limit outdoor exposure when possible.

Stay warm!!

The 2025 Sea Turtle Nesting Season has begun! 

Today marks the first day of sea turtle nesting season in North Carolina: May l - November 15. 

On Bald Head Island, most nesting happens from mid-May to early-August, with hatching season being from mid-July to late-October. 

Fun Fact: Loggerheads produce ~110 eggs per nest and lay 3-4 nests on average in a single season!

Join us in celebrating the return of our beloved summer residents! Our Sea Turtle Protection Team has kicked off morning patrols, and soon you will see them out at night, guided only by red light! Remember to follow our Sea Turtle Tips for a safe and successful nesting season for both turtles and beach-goers alike!
