Did you know that Aedes aegypti mosquitoes (aka: "Ankle Biters") can cycle from egg to adult in 5-6 days? Inspect your yards weekly and remember to dump or drain even small amounts of water. No Standing Water.....No Mosquitoes!!

If you plan to be outdoors this weekend, remember to apply insect repellent. Repellents with 20% or more active ingredient will deter all the mosquitoes here in Kern County. Stay Safe this summer and Help Fight the Bite!!

If you have indoor plants or plant cuttings submerged in water, make sure to check the water for mosquito larvae weekly. Aedes aegypti mosquito lay their eggs on the walls of small water sources and having those little "ankle biters" indoors is no fun. Let's all keep the mosquitoes outdoors this summer!!

Before you go out this weekend, remember that mosquitoes are active and looking for a blood meal. You can prevent the bite by applying insect repellent. Have a Safe Weekend!!

West Nile virus will be active in local mosquitoes very soon. Remember to apply insect repellent before going outdoors, especially if you plan to be outside after sunset and for 2 hours after.

Water Features and Fountains with stagnant water need to be drained or treated with a product that will prevent mosquito production. Let's all do our part this summer to help reduce residential mosquito numbers.

If you plan to go outside this weekend after sunset, remember to APPLY INSECT REPELLENT. EPA-registered repellents with 25% or more active ingredients should prevent any bites from local mosquitoes, if you apply the product according to the label.
