Pool days are better with the whole family, fur babies included. 🐾💙

Our four-legged family members love the pool as much as we do! But pets bring extra into the water: fur, dander, dirt, and the occasional accident that can:

🐕 Clog your filter and skimmer baskets faster
🐕 Use up your chlorine, leaving less to fight bacteria and algae
🐕 Cloud the water and cause odors
🐕 Irritate skin and eyes, for pets and people alike

Quick tips:
✅ Rinse your pup before they jump in
✅ Brush regularly, especially fluffy breeds
✅ Empty skimmer baskets more often
✅ Test your water more frequently

We're here to keep your water clean and safe for every member of the family. 🧪

🐶 This is our fur baby. 📸 Drop a photo of your pup (or cat, or the dramatic water-hater) enjoying the pool in the comments.

🏊‍♂️ When's the last time your pool filter got cleaned? 🏊‍♀️

After a long, hot Austin summer of daily swims, sunscreen, everything the wind blows in, (and maybe dog 🐶hair), your filter has been working overtime — and it shows. Just look at the difference:

BEFORE: Caked in algae and grime, pleats so clogged water can barely pass through.

AFTER: Clean, white, and ready to actually filter again.

A dirty filter means your pump works harder, your water quality suffers, and your chemicals stop doing their job. As swim season winds down, now's the time for a deep clean. 💧

🔬 It's the little things that keep your pool running BIG. 💙

Happy Small Business Tuesday from your friends at Pool Scientist! 🎉

See these O-rings? One is worn, cracked, and ready to fail — the other is fresh and ready to go. Most pool owners never even know to look at them… but WE do. 👀

A worn O-ring on your chlorinator lid or you pump lid can cause air leaks, drop your water pressure, and put serious strain on your entire pool system — costing you way more in the long run.

That's what sets Pool Scientist apart. We don't just skim and go. We inspect, we catch the small stuff before it becomes a big (expensive) problem, and we keep your pump running efficiently all season long. 💪

Cowboy pools are having a moment — but rust, algae, and old sealant can turn that rustic charm into a maintenance nightmare. 🤠

This tank came to us looking like the first photo. After a full strip, etching wash to seal it and professional epoxy coating, it's holding crystal-clear water and ready for years of use.

Epoxy coating isn't just cosmetic — it seals the metal, stops rust from spreading, and gives you a smooth, algae-resistant surface that's actually easy to maintain and feels SO much better than raw metal.

Got a tank that needs saving? That's what we do. 🔧💙

💦 That's the dirt you don't see — until it's coming out!

Your filter is working around the clock to trap dirt, debris, dust, dog hair, and everything else that ends up in your pool.🤢 Over time, all of that buildup gets trapped inside — and if it's never flushed out, your filter can't do its job properly.

That's where backwashing comes in. It clears out everything your filter has captured, so it can keep doing what it does best: giving you the crystal-clear water you see in the background. 💎🏊‍♀️

At Pool Scientist, we make sure your filtration system stays clean, efficient, and ready to work — so your pool always looks this good.

💎 New Plaster? Start It Right. 💎

There's nothing like the moment a brand new pool starts filling up — but what happens in those first few hours and days matters more than most homeowners realize. A poor startup can lead to mottling, scaling, or staining that's nearly impossible to fix later.

That's why we use the Orenda Startup Barrel on every new plaster, pebble, and quartz pool we fill.

Here's why it matters:

💧 Even Distribution — The barrel pre-dissolves our startup chemicals and feeds them into the pool through a hose, so nothing lands directly on the new surface and causes streaking or etching.

⚖️ Balanced Water From Day One — New plaster is chemically reactive and porous as it cures. Getting calcium, pH, and alkalinity dialed in correctly during the fill protects the surface long-term.

💰 Protects Your Investment — A proper startup helps your new pool finish cure evenly, look uniform, and last as long as it's designed to.

Filling a new pool isn't just "turn on the hose and wait." It's a science — and that's exactly why we're the Pool Scientist. 🔬🏊
