A few days ago, we shared the start of TEL employee James Mulhall’s 343-mile journey with the First Responder Ride for Resilience. Today, on September 11, we reflect on the purpose that carried that journey forward.

When an injury cut his ride short, James chose to stay with the group, supporting fellow riders and a mission honoring first responders, remembering those lost on 9/11 and raising funds for people affected by cancer. His takeaway became a simple one: “Never give up. They don’t, so we won’t.”

James joined his fellow riders for the final miles into New York, bringing this meaningful journey to a close alongside the community that made it possible.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost 25 years ago. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger, the families who carry their memories and the people who continue to honor their legacy through service to others.

Meet the innovator behind the technology✨

How do we continue advancing semiconductor scaling in the AI era?

In our latest Tokyo Electron's (TEL) Blog, we speak with Dr. April Shuyan Zhang, Principal System Design Engineer at Tokyo Electron America, about the measurement technologies shaping the future of semiconductor innovation and the role of collaboration in driving breakthroughs.

April earned her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University, where she researched the design and fabrication of metalens optical devices. Since joining Tokyo Electron America in 2023, she has been involved in the development of advanced X-ray and optical imaging systems, helping address the challenges of next-generation semiconductor manufacturing.

343 miles start with the first one, but one employee is carrying more than miles with him.

TELSTRONG Leader James Mulhall officially hit the road for the First Responder Ride for Resilience, a five-day journey from Boston to New York City honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, while supporting first responders facing cancer and the lasting effects of their service.

Before James set out, employees were invited to sign James’ cycling jerseys with the names of people in our TEL family and beyond who have battled cancer, are fighting today or whose lives have been touched by it. Each name now rides alongside James as a message of strength, remembrance and hope.

TELSTRONG also rallied behind his ride, raising more than $7,300 to help support critical resources for first responders affected by cancer.

Day 1 is in the books, but the miles are only part of the journey. is with you every step of the way James!

A classroom was only a part of David Campbell’s training, while the rest happened on the manufacturing floor.

David Campbell became the first graduate of Tokyo Electron US’s registered apprenticeship program in Minnesota, through our partnership with Hennepin Technical College.

He combined coursework with paid, hands-on experience at , learning everything from technical fundamentals to troubleshooting equipment failures on the job.

Now he leaves the program with a nationally recognized credential and continues his career with us.

This milestone is a look at what can happen when education and meaningful experience create an entry point into the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

That’s a first worth celebrating. Congratulations, David!

A new school year should start with possibility, not worry about what’s missing from your backpack.

Our Texas Training and R&D Center team recently packed 37 backpacks for students supported by SAFE Alliance, filling them with the supplies needed to start the school year ready to go.

Employees put some personality into the backpacks, too. Minecraft, Bluey, Hello Kitty and more made the packing table, because sometimes the little details matter just as much.

Thank you to everyone at who donated, packed and helped make the start of school a little easier for local students.

A summer of learning, mentorship and new possibilities ended with a few moments worth remembering at Virginia Tech.

Students from the TechTrek High School Summer Camp recently gathered for their closing awards ceremony, with TEL joining Micron Technology and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to recognize what they accomplished along the way.

Our CFO, Rick Turner, spoke with students about TEL’s role in the semiconductor industry and the careers that could be waiting for them within it.

Then came a surprise.

Anna Albert, a Technical Support Engineer and 2022 Virginia Tech graduate, received a mentorship award from her mentees. Several are now Virginia Tech students themselves and returned this summer as TechTrek camp counselors.

There’s something special about watching students who were once mentored come back ready to do the same for someone else.

That’s the kind of momentum worth carrying forward.

Building the next generation of semiconductor talent starts with giving students meaningful exposure to the industry.

This summer, UPWARDS for the Future Network, our U.S.-Japan university partnership with Micron Technology, is creating those opportunities through workforce development programs.

Last week, 36 university students from Hiroshima University, Kyushu University, Nagoya University, Tohoku University, the Institute of Science Tokyo, and Boise State University joined our U.S.-Japan exchange camp at Virginia Tech, alongside 40 local high school students.

A separate event at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), hosted in collaboration with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), built on that momentum with an additional group of students from our participating Japanese universities and Purdue University.

Across both programs, participants gained a closer look at Tokyo Electron and the range of careers available across the semiconductor ecosystem. Just as importantly, they had the chance to learn directly from people already working to advance the industry.

Experiences like these help turn awareness into possibility. By connecting students with the semiconductor ecosystem early, we can help build a stronger workforce for the future.
