With the freezing weather moving into the central Texas area many people will drip their faucets to prevent pipes from bursting. Dripping faucets can overfill your septic tank(s) which can lead to an unexpected & costly pump out. If you have a septic system it would be a good idea to collect the water from dripping faucets in buckets & empty them into the yard, or store the water for other uses to prevent this water from going to the septic system.

Hurricane Harvey is on it's way! It is likely to impact most of our customer base. Please take care, be safe, & look out for your neighbors! Should your septic system end up under water over the next couple of days please stay away from the tanks & equipment for your own safety. We are expecting & planning for much higher call volumes so please don't wait to report a problem or alarm. The sooner you get on the list the sooner we can get to you after the rain & waters recede.

We have been receiving a much higher volume of alarm calls due to air compressor failure. The triple digit heat day after day is hard on this equipment as it runs 24/7/365. Allowing for unrestricted air flow to your compressor will help cool it. Clean leaves & debris out from underneath & around your compressor. Do not bury it in mulch or other landscaping that can insulate & trap the heat.

Septic tips that can save you money $$$:

It is important to always report all alarms to as soon as you notice them. Muting the alarm can often lead to forgetting about it, so if you report it to us we will help make sure the issue gets resolved properly.

Waiting to report it, hoping it will go away, or forgetting to report it almost always ends up making things worse, & more expensive.

It is also important that you never turn off the power to the septic system without talking to your maintenance provider first.

All alarms should be treated as a water level issue until proven otherwise. This means water usage should be dialed back until the alarm is resolved. Holding off on the use of the washing machine, & dishwasher will ensure that there is plenty of capacity for toilet flushing, & quick showers. Overfilling the system can bring on a sooner than expected pump out, so managing your flow from the house will help minimize the flow out of your wallet.

Utilizing these simple tips will help keep money in your pocket the next time you get an alarm.

Spring is in the air! As we enjoy these long over due rains don't forget to take advantage of the opportunity to re-evaluate the effectiveness of your drain plan on your property. Rain water infiltration on septic systems can lead to unexpected pump outs & costly service calls. If you always seem to get an alarm from your septic after heavy rains chances are you have some infiltration issues that many times can be easily resolved. Ask me how.

This system was infiltrated by surface water runoff. This will result in the need for an immediate pump out every time, & after it has been pumped out all of the system's components will need to be checked ensure everything is still operational. This issue can be resolved or at least limited through the design & implementation of a drainage plan for the property that will direct all surface water & roof top runoff away & to the downhill side of the septic system.

Place tomato cages around your spray heads & tie streamers on to the top of the cages to make them more visible to your livestock.
