🍞 We’ve all accidentally broken a glass or flatware and after what we thought was good clean-up job, three days past by and you catch a piece that was left behind in your foot! Ouch! If at all possible we suggest ditching the broom for this clean up. Pieces of glass can easily get caught in the bristles and flung around your house the next time you use it.

Instead, pick up the large pieces as much as possible with either gloves or a paper towel, and for the pesky little pieces grab a slice of bread and gently press down to collect the remaining shards. 🍞

🛌 Our favorite thing about staying in hotels, are the beds. They are made perfectly, and just so happens when you leave for the day and come back to your room, it’s magically made again! Its just a great feeling to come home to.

So if you don’t already, Make Your Bed as soon as you get up. That means you started your day off with a win! If you accomplish the first task of the day pretty well, then the rest of the day has a better chance of going just as well.

👟 🧹Just about 50% of household dust enters your home through windows, doors, vents and to no surprise, your Kicks Of The Day!

Think about all the steps you’ve got in, and from where? Do you really want to track that inside? Keep a bench or shoe rack at the door, & have everyone remove their shoes.

Optional: For our fancy friends and family, have a basket of cheap house slippers for your friends and family to use while hanging out.

Shaving Cream 🪒💭= NO MORE FOGGY MIRRORS 🤯

Sounds crazy but hear us out. Take a small pump of shaving cream and wipe it across a CLEAN mirror. Buff the shaving cream into the mirror until it goes completely clear—trust the process, it will dissipate after a minute or so. Then boom, that’s it! Hop in that steamy shower, dry off and shake what ya mama gave ya!

🗣️PSA: STOP FLUSHING WIPES. 🚨🚽

Even the flushable ones. Unfortunately they aren’t so flushable after all. When you notice your drain is starting to clog, pour a 1/2 cup of baking soda down it, followed by a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Cover with a wet cloth to contain the science fair-like effects. Wait five minutes and then flush with hot water.

This works on showers and sinks too. Give it a try and let us know what you think in the comments!

Does rust have your skillet looking like it’s spent a few weeks in the beach without applying any sunblock? Stop! Don’t throw it away!

To restore the finish, use a scrub sponge to remove any rust, clean with a bit of mild dish soap, then rinse and dry well. Coat the inside and outside with vegetable oil and bake upside down in the oven at 350 degrees for one hour. Let cool and remove excess grease with a paper towel.

Don’t Forget: Soaking your cast iron in soapy water can be very detrimental—try to avoid this at all cost. Lastly, over-scrubbing cast iron with metal scouring pads can remove the seasoning from your trusty skillet.

☁️🥂🥛🌩️If you ever noticed your dishwasher leaves your glassware looking like a rainy day in Seattle, then this is likely due to hard water in your lines.

You can remove built-up film by soaking glassware in white vinegar for five minutes. Then rinsing them by hand and finishing the job off with a microfiber cloth to dry them. This will most definitely leave your glassware Scrubbed and Spotless!!!

🍷😫 We’ve all been there…

Don’t panic—to save your carpet, start by blotting up as much of the vino as possible. I personally like to throw a towel down (preferably a darker color) over the stain and lightly press down with your foot. If done right away, this will absorb a ton of the liquid. Then saturate the stain with The Pink Stuff and let that sit for up to five minutes before blotting again until the stain is completely gone. We swear by The Pink Stuff, so should you!

🐕 Don’t you hate when your vacuum doesn’t seem to get all your pet’s hair off the couch? Rubber gloves will get the job done, just slide them on and rub down any areas that need extra cleaning. When rubber is pushed against fabric, it will generate a electrostatic charge (the stuff that lets you shock your best friends with your fingers) which will alllw you to gather the remaining pet hair. When finished, simply rinse the gloves under running water when and the hair will unstick. Boom!!! 🐈

💃🏻💃🏽Cleaning up is never fun. Like never!The “Clean Up Song”, is a little PreK-ish, so find something you can get your groove on to while you clear the clutter. You want to put on something that you can really jam too, something that gets your pulse racing and makes you forget your cleaning. At a minimum play something loud enough that you can’t hear the vacuum! 🕺🏽🕺🏻

Let’s face it, your fridge is essentially a closet but for food. Which means there’s likely a ton of stuff in there you won’t use, or haven’t used in quite some time.

Make it a habit to empty your fridge at least 2x a month—that way those leftovers don’t start to leak out into the crevices of your refrigerator leading to sticky residue and awful smells! Try putting your shelves and produce bins in the dishwasher to get them that Scrubbed & Spotless look! For those hard to reach spots between the surface of the shelf, use a toothpick to scrape out some of that old food residue and gunk. Once you’re ready to put your shelves and bins back in, line the bins/drawers with a paper towel to soak up that extra moisture. Saves your produce and makes spills that much easier to deal with.
