🌪️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO LAWRENCEBURG COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION! ❤️
Today was one of those days that reminds you just how incredible the people are who take care of our children when we aren't able to be there ourselves.
With the tornado warning and severe weather moving through the area, Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation stepped up in a BIG way. The staff remained calm, organized, and completely focused on keeping our children safe. They opened their doors and welcomed parents and families who needed somewhere safe to shelter, and they handled an incredibly stressful situation with compassion, professionalism, and dedication.
And the kids? They did FANTASTIC! 👏🏼 They stayed calm, followed directions, and handled a scary situation so incredibly well. That speaks volumes about the teachers and staff who were there guiding, reassuring, and caring for them.
For me personally, this situation was especially stressful because I had children in multiple places.
I had picked my son up from Greendale Middle School for a dentist appointment at 1pm today. I dropped him off after the appointment and went to get the others. I had one child in preschool, my son in 2nd grade at Lawrenceburg Primary, and my daughter at Central Elementary.
When the tornado warning came through, I also had a son who was home alone just two blocks away from the school. As a mom, there was absolutely no way I was going to sit there knowing he was alone during a tornado warning.
I refused to leave my son at home alone, so I made the decision to run out of the school and get to him. It was one of those moments where you don't have time to overthink things—you just go because your mama instincts kick in. ❤️
And while I was making sure my child at home was safe, I knew the children who remained at school were in good hands.
To every teacher, administrator, staff member, and everyone who helped today—THANK YOU. ❤️

Having children in multiple locations during severe weather is incredibly stressful. As a parent, your mind immediately goes to “Where are my kids, and are they safe?”
Today, Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation showed exactly why it takes an entire community to keep our children safe.
The tremendous work, dedication, patience, and compassion shown by the staff today did not go unnoticed.
As parents, we don't always get to see what happens behind the scenes. Today, we got to see the heart and dedication that goes into protecting our children.
Thank you for taking care of our babies when we couldn't be there ourselves. Thank you for opening your doors to families. And thank you for doing everything you could to keep our community safe. ❤️
