I made my own butter & buttermilk out of one jar of cream!

Let me tell you… it is delicious! Definitely worth the time to do it.

All you need is cream with 30% or more fat, salt, mesh strainer, and a kitchen aid mixer.

Add 3 cups cream + 1tsp salt to your mixer & mix on a fast setting. Don’t forget to put some Saran Wrap or a towel around your mixer or it will make a mess. First it will look like cool whip, then butter colored cool whip, and then it will separate. Once the butter is separated from the buttermilk it’s done. Squeeze out milk from butter by dunking it in ice water so that it will stay fresh longer. Store it in your fridge.

I’ve always had a passion for homemade food. I love finding a recipes that are not only healthy but delicious. This winter I’m going to spend a lot of time in my kitchen making messes, making food, making memories.

4th of July is tomorrow! How do you celebrate the independence of our country?

I know a fun way! Share a beautiful charcuterie board with friends and family. Having an organizers brain I automatically want to arrange everything by color & category…. That’s why I’m absolutely in love with this idea. Food can look so pretty and definitely be a centerpiece! Also, it’s just a lot of fun!
