🐾❤️ That’s a Wrap on Our 2026 APL Season! ❤️🐾

Seven months, 14 visits, nine unforgettable dogs, and more muddy paws, wagging tails, and slobbery kisses than we could ever count! 🥹❤️

As we wrap up our second season volunteering with the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, we wanted to share a little of what we’ve been up to and celebrate something that’s become very special to us.

From April through October, here’s what we accomplished:

🐾 14 volunteer visits, helping keep all three outdoor play areas clean and ready for the dogs to enjoy!

💪 Roughly 21 hours of combined hands-on labor, donated by the two of us!

❤️ Approximately $1,050 in donated professional cleanup services, not including our additional time, travel, supplies, or everything that went into sharing the dogs’ stories!

📸 9 incredible dogs we had the privilege of getting to know and advocate for! Ali, Rylee, Chet, Trouble, Veronica, Tipsy, Bruce Lee, Atlas, and Cheerio! ❤️

And here’s the part that makes every bit of it worthwhile…

At least 7 of those 9 dogs have reportedly found their FOREVER HOMES! 🥹❤️ We’re still checking on the other two, and you better believe we’re rooting for them!

And as proud as we are of everything we accomplished this season, some of our favorite moments can’t be measured in hours or dollars. ❤️

It’s walking into the shelter and seeing those excited faces. It’s spending time with dogs who just want somebody to play with, somebody to love on them, or somebody to notice them. It’s getting to know their personalities, taking pictures, sharing their stories, and hoping that somewhere out there, the right person sees what we see.

And when we hear that one of them has been adopted? There’s just nothing quite like that feeling.

We know we can’t take credit for those adoptions, nor would we ever want to. But knowing we may have played even a small part in helping one of these dogs find a family? That’s worth more to us than any dollar amount.

And we couldn’t celebrate this season without celebrating YOU! 🫶

To everyone who followed along, shared one of our features, left a kind comment, or helped get these dogs’ faces in front of more people, thank you. Seriously. You helped us give these nine dogs a voice beyond the shelter walls, and that means the world to us.

When we started Koby’s Cleanup, we weren’t just trying to build a business that paid the bills. We wanted to build something we could be proud of. Something that gave us the opportunity to do some good along the way.

We’re just two people with a little local business, a love for animals, and a belief that even small efforts can make a difference.

And looking back on these past seven months, we’re pretty darn proud of what we were able to give. ❤️

To Ali, Rylee, Chet, Trouble, Veronica, Tipsy, Bruce Lee, Atlas, and Cheerio… thank you for the memories, the laughs, the kisses, and for reminding us why we do this.

Here’s to the seven happy endings we’ve heard about, the two we’re still hoping for, and every deserving dog still waiting for someone to call their own. 🐾🏡❤️

Let’s talk about “Yard Sanitation.”

Apparently, spraying your lawn with a special solution can make it healthier, safer for your children and pets, eliminate harmful contaminants, and reduce the spread of germs. Sounds pretty impressive, doesn’t it? 😏

But here’s what the marketing often leaves out. There’s a BIG difference between deodorizing a yard, reducing certain bacteria, and actually sanitizing grass and soil.

Some companies advertise professional grade, eco-friendly sanitizers, even comparing their products to those used in hospitals and veterinary facilities. The problem? A product that works on hard surfaces doesn’t automatically work the same way on your lawn. Grass, soil, organic matter, weather conditions, and even how long a product remains wet can dramatically affect its effectiveness. And certain parasites associated with dog waste are incredibly resistant to chemical treatments.

We’ve done the research. We’ve tried the products. We’ve even spoken directly with the EPA about sanitation and proper pet waste handling. And while some treatments and remedies do appear to help reduce certain bacteria and contaminants, that doesn’t mean they can reliably sanitize an entire yard. There’s simply no way to guarantee that spraying a lawn will eliminate the harmful pathogens being advertised.

After looking into the science, testing products ourselves, and considering the claims being made, we ultimately decided that offering “yard sanitation” wasn’t in our customers’ best interest.

Not because we couldn’t sell it, but because we weren’t comfortable charging customers for a service without sufficient evidence that it could deliver the results being advertised.

So here’s our question for the pet waste removal industry: If you’re charging customers to sanitize their yards, can you show them a product that’s actually proven to do that on natural grass and soil?

Because calling something “professional-grade,” “pet-safe,” or “eco-friendly” doesn’t make it a proven lawn sanitizer. 😉

At Koby’s Cleanup, we offer deodorizing treatments, and we’re upfront about what they’re designed to accomplish. We believe customers deserve to know exactly what they’re paying for.

There’s a difference between making your yard smell better and claiming you’ve made it safer from harmful pathogens. And that difference matters. 🐾❤️

Miss Jelly 🐩❤️

Every Tuesday, we have the privilege of visiting this pretty girl, and she’s got our routine figured out! As soon as we arrive, she lets mom know we’re there, and before we can get started, we gotta pay the treat tax! 😂 And don’t think we’re getting away without paying it again before we leave!

Today, Jelly was fresh from a bath, looking extra pretty, and ready to enjoy her freshly cleaned yard! After all, a girl looking that good shouldn’t have to worry about stepping in p**p!

One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to know all these pups and their personalities. Some days are tougher than others, but it’s amazing how a few wagging tails and happy faces can turn a whole day around. Jelly is definitely one of those pups! ❤️

You guys remember Angel?! 🥰🐾

She was our very first client nearly 3 years ago, and she’s been putting up with us ever since!

Well, Angel recently got herself a new little brother, Mushu! And now we have twice as many adorable faces to look forward to seeing! 🥹

This is one of the things we love most about what we do. Three years of visiting Angel, and now we get to watch little Mushu grow up, too! 🫶

Between the trees and the dogs, there’s a whole lot of s**t hitting the ground this time of year. 😂💩🍂

Fall cleanups take a little extra time with all those leaves in the way, so please be patient if we’re running a bit behind! We’re still giving every yard the attention it deserves ❤️

🐾 THREE SEASONS OF RICKY! ❤️💩

Some faces you just never get tired of seeing. And Ricky’s is definitely one of them! 🥹

Ricky is one of our OGs, and for three seasons now, he’s been waiting at that door to greet us with his big smile, wagging tail, and usually a GINORMOUS Lamb Chop that’s bigger than he is! 😂🐑

But seriously, this is what makes our job so special. These pups become so much more than stops on our route. We get to know their personalities, their little routines, and look forward to seeing those familiar faces week after week.

Three seasons, countless scoops, and one very special little guy who’s been making our days brighter almost since the beginning.

We love you, Ricky! ❤️🐾

🎉🐾 HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY, LEO!! 💙🥳

One of our favorite little buddies is officially THREE!! 🥹💙

Every week, Leo comes out ready for his usual routine. A little fetch, some frisbee, plenty of love, and of course… TREATS! 😂

Now, Leo is an incredibly smart, well mannered boy who knows all kinds of commands. But apparently, he’s also figured out that our butts are the “dispense treats” button. And he’s NOT afraid to push it! 🤣

And when it’s time to leave, Leo knows the drill! He patiently waits while we head out the gate, then pokes his little face underneath to collect his well earned goodbye treat.
