I want to share something heavy on my heart, because I believe it's heavy on God's heart too.
One of our brothers — a good man, a man of faith — recently experienced one of the most devastating losses imaginable. His 10-month-old son, his firstborn, was taken from this world through an act of violence at the hands of the child's mother. In an instant, his world as a new father was shattered.
The home he shared with his son became too painful to remain in. He is now in the process of relocating to Georgia, where he hopes to find space to grieve, recover, and rebuild.
I am walking with him directly — meeting with him, listening, praying, and being a shoulder to lean on. But I am reaching out to you today because he needs more than I can give alone.
Here's the thing about this brother: he is too ashamed to ask for help himself. He fears that people will think he's taking advantage of others' kindness. So he suffers in silence. That silence is something we, as men, know all too well — and it's something we have to break together.
If you feel led to support him — whether financially, through prayer, through connections in Georgia, or in any other way — please reach out to me directly and privately. I will personally ensure that whatever is given reaches him with full honor and dignity intact.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us: "Two are better than one... if either falls, one can help the other up." This brother has fallen under the weight of something most of us cannot fathom. Let's be the ones who help him back to his feet.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for being the kind of men who answer when a brother calls — even when he's too broken to dial the number himself.
In brotherhood and service,
