I just did a safety check today and this was the misuse on one of the car seats. Always make sure the tether is installed correctly on your kiddos seats.

There's one thing we frequently see missing on forward-facing car seats - and it's important! Don't forget to use the tether for any forward-facing seat. This important piece can make a big difference in a crash.

This car seat came in for a professional cleaning—but the most important thing I found wasn’t dirt.

This Nuna RAVA was included in NHTSA Safety Recall 24C002000.
The recall involves certain RAVA seats where debris may enter the front harness adjuster and potentially prevent the harness from staying properly tightened.
I provided the family with the recall information, instructions for testing the harness and directions for requesting Nuna’s free remedy kit.

At first glance, this car seat looked like it only needed a quick vacuum.

Last week I performed car seat safety checks at a local daycare here in Colorado… and almost every seat had some type of misuse issue.

Most of the problems were things good parents simply didn’t realize:

* Twisted straps
* Incorrect chest clip positioning
* Worn or damaged parts

One seat wasn’t properly installed at all. Another parent discovered their seat had damage serious enough that they immediately went and purchased a new one so we could help install it correctly.
