❌BRING YOUR DOGS AND CATS INSIDE❌

Folks, if there was ever a Winter Storm in our lifetime to protect Okie animals including pets ,strays, and birds, THIS ONE IS IT. Safe shelter, water heaters, bird feed. For the ❤️ of Oklahoma.

Dogs on chains can’t escape this frigid weather. They need proper provisions to protect them from the bitter cold they could suffer frostbite or freeze to death.

Doghouses alone will not be enough to protect them straw/hay is best, blankets do not provide enough warmth but are better than nothing, and lots of them sleeping bags preferred please make sure they are always dry, a cover for the door to block wind is necessary and make sure they are out of the wind in an area well protected, better yet. The young and seniors are most vulnerable.
Just because they have fur does not mean they’re warm. keep in mind you too can still be cold while wearing a coat.

To keep our community feral cats warm please provide insulated shelters (like Rubbermaid totes with straw) positioned away from wind, ensure a constant supply of fresh, unfrozen water using heated bowls or insulation techniques, and offer extra high-calorie dry food, always keeping feeding/shelter areas separate and clearing snow for access. Use straw, not blankets or hay, as it repels moisture and traps heat effectively. Cats & cars don’t mix! Check your engines before starting up to ensure cats did not take refuge under your hood. Bang on your car hood to scare any cats that might be inside

It’s freezing out. It is your responsibility to take care of your pets, they are not yard ornaments and should have to suffer in this weather or worse die. If you are unable to provide for them, I'm begging that you reach out for help or surrender to a shelter.

If this is your neighbors dog, or a dog you have seen in a backyard somewhere. Make a report and keep reporting. Their lives depend on you.
