There’s a strong buzz across the Triad surrounding the highly anticipated 3rd & Wood retail center in Mebane—strategically located directly across from the future Buc-ee’s. This development is set to bring tremendous growth and energy to the area, and we’re proud to play a key role in making it happen.

Jimmy’s Plumbing will be performing most of the site groundwork for the majority of the buildings, along with interior upfits for some major retailers including Michaels, PetSmart, HomeGoods, Five Below, and Marshalls. We’re excited to help bring this project to life and contribute to the continued growth of that community.

❄️ Cold Weather Alert – Protect Your Plumbing! ❄️

As frigid temperatures head our way, it’s important to be prepared for plumbing issues that can arise during severe cold. A little preparation now can help you avoid costly repairs later. Here are a few simple steps to help protect your home:

🔧 Know Your Main Water Shutoff
Take a moment to locate your main water shutoff. Make sure all household members—including children—know where it is and how to turn it off in case of an emergency.
If you’re unsure where it’s located, find your water meter (a meter key can be purchased at most hardware or home improvement stores).

📞 Have an Emergency Contact Ready
If you’re physically unable to shut off your water, look up the emergency contact number for your local water provider and keep it handy. They can usually dispatch someone to turn it off for you.

🏠 Winter Prep Checklist
• Close all crawlspace vents
• Disconnect hoses from outside faucets
• For older, non-frost-free faucets, install foam faucet covers
• If plumbing is on an exterior wall (like under a kitchen sink), leave cabinet doors open to allow warm air in
• If your sink drains properly, letting it drip slowly can help prevent freezing

🚨 If Pipes Freeze
• Do not leave your home unattended without shutting off the main water
• If frozen pipes thaw while you’re away, it could result in serious water damage

💡 Extra Tip
• Fill your bathtub with water before extreme cold hits. If pipes freeze, you can use the water to flush toilets with a bucket.

🎉 What a day! 🎉

We had an absolute blast spending the day with some of our amazing team members and their families participating in the Archdale Christmas Parade! Together, we handed out 500 rolls of toilet paper, 375 frisbees, 350 plunger pens, and 50 lbs of candy to the crowd — and the smiles made it all worth it. 😄🍬

So much hard work went into the design of our float, and we truly appreciate all the cheers, laughs, and votes that helped us take home the 🏆 Most Humorous Float award!

Don’t worry — ideas are already in the works for next year, and we can’t wait to do it all again.
