Well… Labor Day Weekend certainly came in with a SPLASH!

It was a busy start this morning at JG Restoration after heavy rain moved through the area and dumped a LOT of water in a very short amount of time.

Our phones started ringing early. 📞

We’re hearing from homeowners dealing with water coming in through previously tarped areas, along with homes where sump pumps simply couldn’t keep up with the amount of rain coming down.

Wisconsin weather definitely knows how to kick off a holiday weekend. 😳🌧️ But while we can have a little fun with Mother Nature keeping us on our toes, we know there is nothing fun about finding water inside your home or business.

⚠️🌧️ FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT THIS MORNING 🌧️⚠️

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Flood Advisory until 8:45 AM CDT due to excessive rainfall.

📍 Affected Areas Include:
• Southern Outagamie County
• Northern Winnebago County
• Northwestern Calumet County

💧 WHAT TO EXPECT:
Minor flooding is possible in low-lying areas and locations with poor drainage as heavy rainfall continues.

🏠 HOMEOWNERS: CHECK YOUR BASEMENTS!

With this much rain coming down, now is a good time to:

✔️ Check that your sump pump is running and discharging properly
✔️ Check your basement for water or seepage
✔️ Make sure floor drains are clear
✔️ Move valuables off basement floors
✔️ If you have a battery backup sump pump, make sure it's ready
✔️ Avoid flooded roads and areas with standing water
